Well Ive been soo busy plowing and stuff im just getting this done. Its basically all together, just need to tighten up everything and double check things. It should be done by this weekend for a camping / wheeling trip.
The hardest thing was the exhaust manifolds. I ended up just using the stock 6.2 drivers side b/c of the interference with my slave cylinder with trying to use the 6.5 driver side manifold. So I had to make a crossover pipe to work with it, that was easy. The passenger side was a pain, first the manifold was too close to my injectors, so I ended up just buying the shorter 6.5/6.2 ones. I found a new set of Delphi's for $150 shipped from some guy online Diesel Place. Even with the shorter injectors, its still a very close fit. I need to make sure my return lines dont melt. Second problem was that the manifold I got takes 8 90mm bolts, so in order to bolt it up I had to lift the engine up a few inches, bolt it in, then drop it back down. Not a huge deal.
I should be able to pull my tranny without taking the x-over off, while also getting it as high and out of the way of rocks. Its pretty tuck up there, but we ll see how long until I smashed it up.
Im going to run the down pipe on the outside of the frame rail for now, even with low lift/ 40" tires theres no way Ill hit it. My axle is moved like 4" forward and my 52's are pretty flat as it is. I have to make new shock mounts as I had ford towers before, you can see where I cut them off behind the down pipe.
You can see how far forward my axle is
For the waste gate controller I just bought one from heath diesel. It was alot, $119, but it's pretty nice and super easy to install/adjust, and I just didnt have the time to mess with making one.
I added a boost gauge, pyrometer and oil pressure gauge.
I used a 3" K&N filter with a 3" elbow I got at Advance Auto, I need to make a box or shield or new filter, that K&N with probably suck in every bit of dirt/water it sees. I also hooked up a CDR from a 6.5 to it.
Need to clean up/hide the wires everywhere.
For the oil return/feed I bought a kit off ebay for $40, its pretty crappy. The feed line is already kinking, Im going to a local shop and have a better one made up.
Upgraded to some 35 spline chromos outters and flanges.
Also got a Ruff Stuff rear diff cover, hopefully it can keep up with my DIY front one, that thing has taken some abuse.
Hopefully it will be 100% running tomorrow, hopefully Ill have time to post some pictures of it outside and all together.
