Funny you asked.
Messed with the Truck a little more today. I pulled the bed off and removed the bent rear bumper and the tow hitch...at one point someone had a massive amount of tongue weight on this truck. See pics
Both sides of the frame looked like this.
Not cool but hasn't seemed to hurt anything else on the rig.
With the bed off I got a better look at something I had noticed before. I'm pretty sure I know what this is even though I had never actually seen a factory one.
Trivia time. What is this lever contraption on the rear axle?
Since the truck was previously a diesel the previous owner left the passenger side tank unhooked and the switch inside disconnected. Dropped the tank and tended it all out, tested the switch and pump and surprisingly enough, everything worked perfectly. A few pieces of hose for vents and nozzle and had it all buttoned up.
Lastly, when I got the truck it had a massive tach sitting in the floor board. Brand new....so I wired it up as well.
Ive been debating pretty hard about weither or not I want to keep it dually still or go SRW.
Im not sure I can bring myself to hack a truck that's in such good shape and fast becoming a classic in its own way.
For whoever asked.
Im close to victoria, down below houston about 100 miles.
