Bought a 88 jimmy. It was everything I wanted but not full convertible so let it sit for a few months cause I really had no interest in it. Then once I got around to getting her going, I came across a 75. I put the brakes on the 88. Decided that if I could get a title for the 75 that I’d restore it and rob whatever I needed for the 75 off of the 88. I ended jumping through hoops and got a title for the 75. But after 3 days of digging into the 75, it’s more than I want to take on so I’m gonna cut it up to convert the 88 using the parts of the 75. So I figured that I start a post and show my progress with hopes that it might help someone else out.

Today I started to add custom rocker boxes so when cut off the windshield it won’t fold up. Here’s what I di today.

I like those boxes. That's exactly what I plan to do with mine eventually, with the end plates being the floor plates of my cage.

Interesting mod. You've got me thinking about similarly branching off my slider brackets with a reinforcement.

Did some more stuff on the drivers side last night. Mounted a plate for a roll bar and remade/located the seat mounts. Pictures coming this evening

Next on the to-do list before cutting the windshield is replace the passenger side rockers and make another rocker box. So I had to spin around the 88 so once I’m ready it’s an easy pickup and move. The lift on it is gonna make things a little more challenging lol.

Who knew how much a p.i.t.a it would be to simply pull off a door. Here’s a few pictures of tonight’s progress
