My full conversion

Got a lot done today but ran outta 75/25 gas for my welder so I didn’t get to finish the rocker box on the passenger side. Only took a couple pictures because it’s the same as the other side

Finished welding up the rocker box, did some patching on the floor, made floor mounts for my new seats, welded down a plate for a roll bar, installed outer rocker panel and made a hook mount for the passenger seat (it rolls forward).

Nice progress. Making me want to go work on mine. With the full cage I plan and attaching to the body I don’t think I’ll need those boxes. I’ll be making sliders that attach to the body and frame as well.

I didn’t want a full cage so I had to come up with something to support cowl with the top off. I’m not gonna be doing any serious off-roading, plus I hate crawling thru them.

Took it easy tonight just removed both windshields of the trucks to see if I have any rust issues. I was shocked that is was able to remove both without cracking either one (well not make the crack worst on the 75).

Hahah yah I just removed mine tonight. Had it out in about 4 minutes start to finish.

Found some rust that caused some pin holes. But I welded them up and bondo will do the rest.

Shockingly the measurements are correct without cutting again and the door gaps are pretty good. More to come tomorrow

I wish that was the case here. The rubber on the 88 was glued all the way around and the 75 was just as bad without glue. But a couple cuts with the razor and they both came out easy.

Today’s progress. Got window frame tacked into place (there’s a slight difference in them, but nothing that a little weld, grinder and bondo can’t fix). Cut the bed rails flush and capped with sheet metal. Took apart the donor doors to get two brackets off each door. Cut the passenger side window frame off, installed brackets for window track and caps. That’s it for today pictures in a few minutes.

Decided tonight not to do the drivers door yet. I have so much stuff laying all over the place and with snow in the forecast I needed to get some of the stuff up before the weekend. So I put the kick panels in, fender, and inner fenders on the passenger side. Then threw the grill on it. Now it looks like a truck again. And of course my 4 legged helper had to pose for the picture lol.

Had some time today to get at it. Finished up the drivers door.

You have to drill a hole for the bracket that gets welded to the window track. (Yeah I know I missed the mark a little bit, but I made it work lol)
