My full conversion

The 75 used to have a fiberglass one piece front end before I got it. And the inner fenders are still on it. Which happens to be fiberglass too. And since the ones on the 88 were in pretty bad shape I swapped them out. Have to say I like the fiberglass ones better. The fitment could’ve been better but 100 times better than what I had. Also had to modify the battery tray to accommodate the fiberglass inner fenders (no pictures thou).

Weather and laziness got me for the past few days. But I worked on it somewhat today. Started to swap out the roll bar.

The 75 doesn’t have a footwell the the roll bar main hoop has to be lengthened

Took off the old padding, what a pain in the butt.

Had to cut off the mounting plate (but I knew that before I started, that’s why I welded down some plates to the floor).

I’m gonna sleeve the pipes together for strength and safety

And some plug welds once the extra pipe comes in.

Then of course where the back bars mount to, I find rust. So it’s got to go

Both sides SMH lol

Made some plates to weld in

That’s all for tonight. I’ll weld them down tomorrow

The factory roll bar bolted to the B pillar but since I’m welding down the main hoop no need bolt it to the pillar. Cut a piece of square tube and welded it up.

Plug welded the inner sleeve tube and welded it up

Outer piece that matches the original pipe.

Love the build...keep it up.

Since I shattered my rear glass a few months ago tugging on a stump. Decided I’d switch those out today.

Really not that hard to but found out I need more stuff smh.

Figured out why I couldn’t open the tailgate . One of the previous owners tired to weld something on the mechanism that pushes the arms open and it broke off. Never would’ve noticed it but I broke off the nut that adjusts the arms and rods so decided to switch out that piece. Oh yeah that adjustment nut is LEFT HAND THREADS. Only noticed the LH stamps on the head after snapped it off.

Geez lol

Some parts for the power windows showed up today. So I figured why not go ahead and put them on. Soldiered and used some heat shrink tube to make a clean permanent fix. Spot weld clamps work great to hold the wires together

Stripped some wire down to wrap around the wires to keep them from fraying

All done on passenger side

Didn’t really work on the truck today. But pull off the differential cover just to see what gears I actually have. And to my surprise I have 5.13’s. I was so happy to find that finally something I don’t have to replace. Only to find out my heater core is leaking. Found antifreeze on my floorboards and I haven’t started the truck in over a month, seems weird that all of a sudden it went bad.

Did alittle bit today. Put in my new phathom grill.

Before

Taped up for some dress up behind the grill

Semi gloss done

Cleanup the trim up with a soft wirewheel

Phathom grill installed

Man I'm so happy I did this. Love the look

Finished the nerf bars tonight. Here’s some pictures of how/what I did.

Had some metal rope steps that I had built for my cj5 but changed my mind about putting them on it. Decided I need some sort of help/step to get in this tall sucker so I cut off the plate they were welded to and welded them to the bottom of the nerf bar.

I wanted these easily removed if needed so decided to make knife plates and run a bolt thru them.

Welded them to the tubes I installed earlier that support the cowl when the top is removed.
