my holley sniper story from the start --- UPDATE : the story END'S NOW !

That sucks you had to go through all this with Holley. Imagine all the other units out there having similar issues and the people who are not as knowledgeable as you are totally clueless and Holley keeps saying nope, nothing wrong with our product. At least you got some credit with Summit. I saw some guy just bought this for his 69 Camaro. I should warn him and others in the future.

On another point, Engine Masters did a dyno test between MPFI and Carb. Carb won for HP/Tq! Same CFM, Same engine and manifold. Good episode. Love that show.

ya i am not saying all holley stuff sucks or even all sniper units suck . . . but mine sure as heck did from the start .

i love there youtube video series good side by side testing . but for me and what i like and do with my truck i just want a good clean efi setup that can be played with as you add mods but also and most important do what it says and easy to tune your self . and every one i have read and asked this to here and other sites say the edelbrock is hands down the easy one to play with and least amount of after setup tuning required .

Will Summit let you return it after this long?

I recently had a problem somewhat similar to this. I'd purchased a tuner product for my wifes truck. First time I try to run the tune, it bricks the ecu. The tuner company overnighted my ecu to FL and back and got me running again, but after about 6mo of back and forth w/ the engineers they finally agreed to a refund as they couldn't get the code to work. But since I'd purchased from Summit it had to go back to Summit. Summit took it but had to verify w/ the mfg, for some credit on the backend.

yep summit did the same . they were just covering there butts . i got no beef with them as it was the holley units problem .

the service rep told me if they o.k.ed the refund / credit then they would tak it no questions asked .

next week i will be ordering my replacement system ......... just NOT a holley product . :deal:

The gap between carb and FI is getting closer and closer though. The big difference was intake temps. Did you see how cold the mixture temps were just below the carb? Mid 30's, almost freezing. With the FI it was ambient temp at the same spot with the fuel being injected closer to the valves. I love that series too!
