And here is what $1100 dollars worth of tubing looks like

damn those header flanges are thick.

I count 8 sticks of tube. please tell me you did not pay $6 a foot.

I'm blind, I see a stick now that I did not. but thats still around $5 a foot. around here it's usually around $3 a foot for DOM.

Dont forget the taxes! Also for some reason the 2inch comes in 22 ft sticks
man I am ready to go home... its 10:10 and I gotta be back up here at 7am for real work... Kinda' :wink1:

Man, I wish I knew you were going with cutting brakes. I have a set I was thinking about selling. What rear calipers are you running?

chevy 3/4 ton fronts... I got the CNC angled cutting brakes with 3/4 bore. Ill get some more pics up later today.

I've got the same ones using the same calipers on my 14bolt. I actually did my entire senior design project in college on the setup. On paper everything should work fine, but in the mock setup I had for testing I could never make it work the way I wanted. I think the issue was that the 3/4 masters couldn't push enough fluid for those calipers. The handles would go full stroke and only build marginal pressure in the calipers. ( I have some expensive brake pressure testing gauges). The setup is a bear to bleed too. Let me know how it goes, because if I can make it work in my truck I'd still really like to use it.

Ill let you know... Did you pressure bleed the brakes? also how did you mount the levers, level or at an angle? A buddy of mine is running them in his jeep with the same calipers and they work like a champ... here is a pic of his setup.

I didn't have a vaccum bleeder so I took it to a brake shop to use theirs and to get some help bleeding the setup out. I had everything on a mock setup stand I made. I still couldn't make it work. i had the masters mounted level. I think CNC says you have to have them like that to bleed them.

Here are some pics of the cage so far. I hope to finish it in the next few nights. Not bad for 2 days.

I fixed the pic's so we all didn't have to side scroll for half an hour to see the pic's...:p:

I like it so far, but I would be concerned that the door bars are gonna be shoulder busters if things get unexpectedly rough. Also, the one pic showing some welding...I really hope the rest of the welding is gonna be better than that. You spent the extra cake on DOM, at the very least it should be welded correctly.

I dont have to scroll on my comp.... Hmmm, Ill resize the future ones. As far as the welding goes, the finish welds will look much better... That was partially my fault, I had the big bay doors open while justin was welding... as some of you might have heard it was a little windy here in Atl. this past weekend. Also remember, I am still working out the design on a couple parts so there will be a couple of changes and alot of gussets...

it wasn't that the pics are too big its just that they were all posted hoizontal one after another. Its fixed now though. When you think you'll be workin on the cutting brakes?

Summit just showed up with my hoses and fittings for the brakes, so It will be this week or this weekend. I have to finish it for the save Tellico ride.

Yeah, not a size problem with the pic's. Just make sure to hit enter after you paste in each pic's url and it'll all be good.
