reminds me of an old pistol grip shifter on the A-833 mopars...

Call me silly, but I can't think of anything I would rather have than the factory shifter knob.

465 is a 4 speed to me, too. I wanna punch anyone who calls it a granny-low with 3 speed. :doah::doah::doah:

I always refer to it as a 4 speed. One of those speeds is low, there is no 4th gear.

I agree, frankly the pistol grip or "ergo" grip seems dumb to me. I don't use my entire friggen hand to shift...that just seems awkward.

I agree. I used to put the B&M shift handles on all my 4 speeds, but I really just like the stock one these days.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone put the black pipe insulation on there shift levers? My dad always had it in his 70 jeep pickup- both the trans and t case lever. I've seen others do it too. don't think there's any good reason too, but now I want to just for nastalgia...

This may be somewhat unrelated, but not all "granny low" transmissions had the "L-1-2-3-R" on the knob. I had a Dodge pickup with the NP435 (which is similar to the SM465) and it had "1-2-3-4-R" on the knob but the first gear was definately an unsynchronized, super low gear with a long throw on the shifter that you only used occasionally, like when you wanted to go slow off road.

My K30 had it on when I bought it, but I ripped it off. I use to see it a lot, but not so much anymore. I usually put a bunch of koozies around mine.
