good to have ya back.... glad the truck came out good... snap some shots....

sorry worked all day yesterday and now its nasty snow rain mix out for the rest of the day.

the suspence builds.... :D

I saw your truck at the body shop. Was wondering what you were getting done. They fixed up those A-pillars for ya?

Oh ya the whole windshield frame, the windshield, paint on the bed, and new front fender.

What are your thoughts after a couple of years on those yearone fenders? I'm looking to replace mine, just curious if you are still happy with them?

the driver's side is solid and has been quality since day 1, the passenger side spot welds were weak and popped causing a few stress cracks. It got to the point where i could almost pull the fender skin right off the fender. I think I may have just had a bad one or maybe the mounts were loose or something. But I still recomend the fenders. They are the better of the reproduction fenders. Decent fit and finish and not paper thin but not quite OE.

Pics... finally

Well here are the before pics taken by the body shop after pulling the windshield. As you can see there was a lot more rot that anyone had anticipated.

Well after a lot of metal work, smoothing, and painting the windshield frame was rebuilt. The body shop did an awsome job and very detailed. They painted the bed and the new fender with some early 90s Nissian white paint. They also undercoated the bed too. Here are the finished pictures:

The rear end seems to be sitting higher now with the 14b. Then again the bed still doesn't have floor yet.

The body shop left the cab visor off and installed these sealed stainless captured nuts so I don't have to worry about the bolt holes leaking again. I'm not sure if I want to put the visor back on or not. I like how it looks, but I have already seen 1-2mpgs without it... What do you guys think?

I think it looks alright without the visor.

If you don't mind me asking, was that bodywork expensive or did you get a deal? Reason I ask is because where I live I could see that costing quite a bit! (Was quoted 9 grand for the body work on my truck :yikes: but that was total)

ya it was expensive. $2800 :eek1:

But then again I could not have done this any where near this level of quality. I mean I couldn't even spray primer correctly...

i hear ya man, looks awesome though and definitely worth it. I'm getting my bodywork done by the local college for around 3 grand. Theres no way I could do that stuff myself, just don't have the time/resources or skills at this point.

I hope mine turns out as good as yours did :waytogo:

Loose the visor. Useless and as you discovered, SUCK gas mileage.

Visor off. Looks better. In hindsight, should've had them seal up the holes permanently and then paint. Could always get some stainless bolts to put in those holes.

hey your bed floor is missing, just thought I'd tell ya. But all jokes aside it looks real good man.

Why is this "bubbly" here? For 2800 I would expect it to be smooth. :eek1:

Good eye, thats some of that undercoating that you see on the bed. I don't know why they undercoated there. They said that there was undercoating there when they pulled it apart so after they reconstructed the windshield they put new stuff on there but sprayed a little too high. Honestly it's not a show truck so I don't care about the little rough patch.

Actually now you have me thinking, like maybe they might be hiding something or cutting corners... :screwy:

haha ya, I keep wanting to throw stuff back there but I can't. it will get a nice piece of 3/4" pressure treat just as before.

the exhaust system is something to be desired as well...

Ahhh, makes sense.

Sorry about making you worry now
