Ive been running the same $5 belts for 3 years, and have put plenty of miles on. Id say im pretty content with them.![]()
The problem I had was that I put new gates belts on and immediately hit the road to Michigan. The belts take time to break in and they stretch a little and so by the time I hit the dunes the belts were loose again and squealing badly under the high load of the electric fan. I tightened them before hitting the road again and haven't touched them until yesterday.Glen, are your belts really squealing? Did you paint the pulleys? I did that once, never could get any belt to grip on it, you are better off buying new factory pulleys, they are sometimes cheaper than belts.
