My Re-Re Build Thread.....Drivetrain parts!!

I have seen guys do just that and I think it works very well. Protects against rock chips and helps prevent rust. Just make sure you wrap the bedliner around to the inside.

Thanks Jason. Just hope I do a decent job on the outside. Still a little more prep work but it's getting real close. Can't wait to paint the outside so I can put the new weather stripping in that's been sitting in a box for a few months.

Also what do you guys think of this ideal? I plan on painting the topper gray as mentioned before. I have also thought of doing the lower 8-10" of the body in a gray bed liner. I think it would go good with the top and defiantly give it the two tone look. Plus it would serve a purpose in protecting the body from rust and what not.

i'd say do the topper and the rockers in bed liner...

I thought about it, but decided against it. I really can not justify spending the money to bed line the topper when it will never rust and and virtually never get a rock chip. If anything I would rather spend the time smoothing the finish on it. I like the way they look with a smooth surface.

Hey, that's a nice rig there!! The new color is awesome!!! Oh and your girlfriend is totally cool for supporting you!!

Nice job Corey! That paint looks great so far, and you still have to put clear over that? You're gonna need shades just to look at the inside of it!

looks awsome so far, I definately agree on the smoothing of the topper, I love the look.

See I told you I gave you accolades.

Just so the Brotherhood knows Bluechic is my other half. Need to get her a membership and post up some pics of her 71, even if it does look like the Smurfmobile. Pretty much all stock except for a hoped up 350 in it. She don't know it yet but it's already mine. :D

Not that bright actually. Just one coat of clear so it's not overwhelming on the shine. By the time the dash cover, door panels and trim pieces are painted gray and installed it will tone down the blue inside.

Other than that I didn't do much today, but I'll give her hell tomorrow.

Looks good man!

That's the whole point of it. I have been missing driving my Blazer in a big way. After Rene got his 91 and was making a point of just getting on the road/trail I knew I had to do the same. Fock I just want to drive it down the road if nothing else.

I used to love big tear down build up projects, but now that i am closer to a wheeling area I barely even make time for upgrades cause it works the way it is.

If I can work on stuff without taking anything apart I will, but if it requires major garage time I just put it off. I've had Hydro Assist stuff laying on my bench for two months now!

ahem, yeah right, as much as your 78 is mine!:haha:

Done anything more fockface? I'm due for an update too, but you're overdue! :p:

I have been slacking. Really haven't done much in the last two months. I have two more spots on the out side to tidy up before paint. Picking up the paint on Monday. I need to defiantly get this thing shot before the rains come this fall/winter. Another week and a half until school starts and I'll have a couple days a week to myself to play with it. Right now that is the goal, defiantly don't want to see it turn to rust again. After that I will most likely strip out the 94 K2500 for the 6.5, NV4500 and I might as well grab the rear axle as well. Been searching for a diesel wiring harness to no avail. Oh well I'll keep looking. Would be nice if Painless did one for the diesel trucks.

Sort of an update......

Picked up the paint for the exterior today. It's the Matrix System single stage Spectra Blue. I am trying to decide still on what color gray for the topper. I have also decided to do the "cap" on the half cab in gray as well to give the illusion of a full convertible top. It's all business next week when school starts. Still have a few dings giving me headaches that I am trying to get out before the paint goes on. Hoping this all goes well, it will be my first full paint job. Not looking for a show rig just some color and something to keep it from rusting again. Then it's on to more under carriage mods and 6.5TD/NV 4500 swap.

Cool Corey, throw up a play by play if you can...you know us pic sluts love that stuff.

I'm having a tough job, finding time to get in the shop all summer....the kids are buying a house now, so they want some help there too.....when will it end?????

Oh man tell me about it. My daughter just started kindergarten, and my soon to be step daughter just started 4th. No time what so ever lately.

It's kinda hard to block out life! Enjoy the kids while they are little, I know it is time consuming, but they thrive on it, and in the end you'll be glad you did.
