my TRAZER build thread...take a gander

just read the entire thread. nice build. came along smoothly. my neighbors can be the same way. but communication always seems to work with them.ive got a trazer build going on in my driveway, hope i get it to your stage soon enough.

nice truck

thanks alot! do you by chance have any recommendations for welding schools in california. im planning on getting enrolled in on soon just dont know what one

I learned on the job but the next best thing would be a college course...

Most of the instructors are pretty knowledgable and can get you certified in what ever type of welding you want. Just remember that everyone has their own techniques. Don't let one guy tell you theres a certain way to lay down a bead. Try them all and find out what works for you.

Owning a welder is a big help also and you got a nice one with the dvi.

The welding instructor out at Cosumnes River College in Elk Grove is a pretty cool guy. I was in taking some autoshop classes out there a few years ago and the welding guy was in the shop a fair amount. I heard and saw the aftermath of him blowing up an spray can by welding too close. There was still a soot mark on the 20' cealings last I was out there. You can't argue with the prices of taking classes at a jc either

ya i was kinda thinking either sac city consumnes or diablo valley college in walnut creek

great build, only one complaint though...

I try to follow a build. then douches like josh clutter the damn thing up i cant understand a single thing that is going on. its common in a lot of threads. it gets old and i feel ck5 is not as good as it once was...

come on guys...

my buddy ran hells revenge the perimeter and one other. but when i go up im gunna run everything except for the first trail to the right when you get up to the sign in dest that trail was insane!

yeah when I was up there a green tubed out toyota was trying the one on the right and blew a rear axle shaft. Gnarly little canyon, dont think you could get a k5 through without some serious sheet metal rearrangement

the fab on the bed is all done now. tomorrow im gunna make my shock inboard mount and work on de rusting the tool box. heres pics of how i did my gas filler

so i put some gas in the tank today and started it. it runs damn good it idles a little high but i can fix that easy the only thing i was kinda concerned about is that the engine started smoking after it got a little warmer. my guess is that its just burning off all the dust and crap that has settled on it in the past non running 3 years. anyone else have any ideas? should i be worried

Prolly greasy fingerprints burning off the exhaust. :waytogo:

If it doesn't stop after running it warmed up for 10-15 minutes take a second look.

okay ill let it run for longer i want to connect and take off the vacuum lines accordingly first though so it will run correct. does anyone know what to do with unused vacuum lines? can i just cap them off or what

IIRC the charcoal canister will help your idle...

+1 on the smoke. I had oil on my pipes and the thing would smoke when it would get hot. Is the smoke coming out of the pipe or from around the motor or pipe?

My jimmy project was smoking a bit when I started it up,after it ad been stoped for while,I decided to change and spark plugs and installed real gm sparks for my 400sbc and it stop smokin.
