Hmm, I guess I never updated this thread huh? Well I'll give a quick rundown from where I left off till now.
Since the last pics in here I managed to get the 3/16" plate on the boat sides and got that all finished up as you can kinda see in this pic:
Then a bit of wiring and that was about it and it was off for the maiden voyage of blazerfest. Got there and on the 2nd day broke a shock mount on the pass. front because it hadn't been gusseted or braced yet, just tack welded in place
Little tilted...
So after getting it back home I finished the shock mount setup and decided to get it painted before heading to the rubicon. Scuffed the truck with scotchbrite pads and sprayed the body with the OD green from Home Depot and then masked the entire body and sprayed the cage Stainless Steel also from HD. Also got the 5/16" underbody skids back in.
Then it was off to the rubicon where I found out that a tack welded in place rear 4 link crossmember wouldn't work

See kids, this is why you don't try and rush to get to an event...
Anyway, got back from that trip and built an entirely new rear 4 link crossmember that won't even move and finished up a few other loose ends just in time to head to moab for Blazer Bash. That was a much more successful trip that had no breakage. Also got chromoly shafts in the front with CTM's and drive flanges. Much nicer not having to worry so much about front axle breakage.
Still need to finish the bed so that I can get my spare parts and tools out of the cab and build my spare tire carrier. I have the rear seats and harnesses just haven't put them in yet due to what I just said, the tools are taking up the room... The inner cage is still just as you saw it in the pics, unfinished. Need to get that done as well. Also working on my doubler and picked up some new tires tonight, new to me anyway.
Tomorrow and Tuesday are designated truck day so I'll be doing bump stops in front, sway bar in rear, working on the bed, new tires, etc so look for some updates after tomorrow and Tuesday
