Hey All,
Yea, I got it a little over a week ago, but I finally got my Avalanche. Now I have two great toys My 84 Blazer and my new baby the Avalnche.
I have been in love with this truck/suv since I first saw it on the drawing board. After over a year, my wife got tired of me talking about it all the time and we traided in her Saturn (YEA!).
The only problem is she gets to drive it all the time as the family car. I get to drive the blazer, but at least I got the coolest truck in the world my Avalanche.
CAN'T WAIT TO TAKE IT TO RUBICON!!!!! JUST KIDDING!

Still Poundin' "pavment" after all these years!!!

It's not like a two door Saturn is a good family car. The Avalance is just what I needed.

cool much better than a Saturn....you are gonna have to be the one to dissuade everyone on this board from being mad at GM because they sway'ed from the concept-- Michigan-Mud---owns the 84 concept check out his ck5 album to see the roots ;)

What? You think the hole is too deep? Lemme see...

Whatever dude. GM has been taken over by crack smoking engineering school dropouts. I for one will probably never buy a new GM product...unless they re-introduce the truck and stop all this "car-like" crap.

You gotta get with the times sometime, If you don't move ahead and invent new products you'll go out of business.

So whats the difference if any on the suspension as compared to a Suburban? If there isn't then go get you a lift and some tires to make it atleast half way desent,

J/K Plastic is for toys not trucks!!!

But Congrats on the new purchase.

When the S#!T gets deep, you have to keep moving and friends can always pull you out</font color=blue>

It's the same as a Suburban It's just that the body is different. Yea, It would be alot better with a solid front axle but I'll have to do that myself. I saw one the other day with a lift and 33's and it looked really cool.

So, out of curiousity... how thick is that plastic all over the sides anyways? The vehicle could be like 8" narrower without all that crap. And probably a lot lighter. And a lot more ground clearance. Sorry dude, I cant share your enthusiasm. I think they are totally ugly. But Im happy for ya, if it makes you happy.

I guess it's about 1/2 maybe a little thinner. As far as ground clearance the plastic dosen't really hang down any lower than the frame. It's the first time I've used more Armor All than wax to keep a truck looking good. HA HA!

I'm sorry, I just NOW found pics of what the Avalanche looks like and Holy Snikeys its UGLY.
It reminds me of those over accessorized trucks down in Mexico. No offense to any of the mexican people on the forum, but I live in So. Cali and every time I see a truck with accessories all over the place, a mexican is driving it. I guess that is their thing down there. The avalance reminds me of it with all that plastic crap around it.

Glad you like it tho....

Looks like everyone just about agrees that GM has really made a really ugly truck / suv / thing. My only problem with it is that some dude is a multi millionare because he thought up that ugly ass design, aint that a pisser?

My problem isn't with the designer. ITs with the idiots who approved his design and said to go and make them. I'm sure all the engineers are thinking up all kinds of designs that get canned everyday. Then some lucky guy shows his on just the right day and it gets approved. We need to find the supervisor or committee that approved this rolling piece of trash. Hook him up to a tug strap and drag him around the desert for a little while.

WOW.......I thought I might find one other person that like's the Avalanche as much as I do. Maybe some one who even likes it just a little bit. I guess all that metters is that I like it, but it sounds like my idea of a Avalanche web site might not get many hits. Can't do a Blazer site because this site is the best!

They market it as the first SUV that can turn in to a truck. My how quickly we have forgotten what was introduced in 1969.
