My wife needs a k5 in Claifornia.

Someone in California has to be selling their k5. My wifes even looking into the IFS tahoe if she can get a good price... ...I'm buying it anyway!:doah:
 
There's used to be quite a few over in Napa, Sacramento, and north of there. Craigslist is probably the best bet.
 
There is going to be a SUPER CLEAN 1st gen for sale in our local club here real soon. I have no idea what he wants for it (assuming more than the 4500 you wanted to spend) but this is the cleanest 1st gen i've seen in a long time. Once i see him post an add and a price i'll throw up a link for you.

You never know with the ecomony the way it is maybe he is willing to bargain on the price if there's a serious buyer.
 
I would love a 1st gen, but if I got one for my wife I'd be jealous. I got my eyes on a 73 right now. The asking price is $5 so we'll see. I might even sell my 75 afterwards and wait another year to look into a first gen for myself.
 
Ok, i just got a message from him, he wants 6500 for it and it's definately worth twice that much. He said he would have an ad up later today. I'll see if he can send me some pics of it and i'll e-mail them to you if you're interested. Keep in mind i've seen this rig in person and it is VERY CLEAN.
 
$5k for a 73 sounds kinda high -unless it's really nicely restored-. I could find beater 73's for under $1k a couple years ago, although a beater might not be the best thing for the wife. :)
 
Yeah, I'm not paying 5 for a 73. I paid 2 for my 75. It's pretty nice and it's got 1 ton running gear. Even if I find something for the 45 I'm looking for it's gotta be nice. I don't mind body damage, but the wife does. She found a 90's 2 door tahoe for 5 with a 15" lift, 40's, 124k miles and it looked real clean. I just don't wanna have to worry about smog and IFS.
 
9" Jimmy, here is a pic of the 72 for sale i mentioned earlier.

So i'm putting my 72 Blazer up for sale. It's a 72 CST Stock 350 3sp w/ a granny low. Should still have the 205 t-case underneath.(i will verify and let you all know). 4 inch lift It was painted Hemi orange last May and i had the entire inside sprayed with bedliner. (tailgate, floor pan, doors, dash, and the frame around the windshield) I also had all the rust and rot cut out and had all new metal welded in. Theres probably a can of body filler on the entire truck. All fluids have been drained and replaced. New valve covers and gaskets. This truck runs good and up until winter, it was driven everyday. Now i just start it up and run it down the street when the weather isn't so bad.

If any club member or if a club member knows someone interested. I'm asking $6500.00 I will eventually put it on Craigslist and ask a little more for it.

Thanks for the info. If I had the money for that I'd jump on it. Like I said, I'm only looking to spend 45 at the most. I'm really looking for something around 4. I'm not trying to make a low ball offer on your friends truck, he should have no problem getting 65 for it. Thanks again for asking me about it though.:bow:
 
Can you pm me with some more pics? I was just in San Diego too, I could've stopped by on my way back north. I'm kinda looking for myself now. I caught my carb on fire about 20 minutes ago and left it on the side of the road. :doah:

You would be surprised how many people under estimate truck values down here. Hell, i got my pink slip 85 with rebuilt motor, trans, and interior for $1200 :D. after my axle swap, a paint job, and some offroad lights i bet i get 4k and only be into it 2200

I agree with the BS call. I was taken on this claim recently, need pics to prove.
 
OH please go to AZ you find what ever you want and for cheep calif think they have the edge on every thing ya they got it alright over priced go on craigslist anf go looking in all the western states bet you find a sweet deal
