Mystery oil leak.. PICS!! :D

Well with the gf in town, i keep pushing this back. And i've saved $100 in gas since its been down, soooo im not complaining

But i'll take a look when i get a chance and then hop on Frenchie and let y'all know whats up.

Fixed it for ya. :D

There are 22000 drops of oil in one quart, so if you lost 1/2 quart that would be a lot of oil.

Really puts that single drop into perspective when you know that. Guess my leak that drops about every 30 seconds really isn't as big a deal as I thought. I'm still gonna fix it one day, but it definitely just dropped on my priority list a little.

think about the poor guy that had to sit there and count all them drops :zombie18::zombie18:

let's hope someone had enough common sense to at least break it down into ounce form with a little math... :haha:

That line for your oil pressure gage, is it the nylon one that came with the gage? If so, they're known for leaking or blowing out at the most inopportune times. Replacing it with copper or steel braided would be prudent.

Yea it is actually. I wonder if it split at the fitting and blew everywhere. I went and turned the truck on earlier and saw no oil pressure. I figured it blew all the oil out, not that my line was broken... hmmmm....

CULPRIT!
Got bent over by my headers again, although... it was my fault.
i moved it to replace my freezeplug. =/

Use the fitting right behind the intake for the oil preesure gauge.

that way the line is shorter and you dont have to worry about it being burned by the headers.

all fixed. this is how i work on my truck btw

5'5" and 2.5" backspacing works nicely for me. :thumb:
