There are 22000 drops of oil in one quart, so if you lost 1/2 quart that would be a lot of oil.

What weight oil was used to measure this? I'm sure that number would change depending on the viscosity.There are 22000 drops of oil in one quart
That line for your oil pressure gage, is it the nylon one that came with the gage? If so, they're known for leaking or blowing out at the most inopportune times. Replacing it with copper or steel braided would be prudent.
