The front is pretty much done. The rear is next.

Bed sides pulled in. This is as far as I got.

Took about 19 in off the front and 22 in from the rear.

Enjoy :hack: :grind:

Cool deal!

I would add some through bolts to your battery mount though, and possibly some gussets upwards. You might be surprised how much stress 80 lbs of battery can put on sheet metal...and you sure don't want the battery rolling around shorting out all over everything.

I was thinking about that when I put it in. I have not finished it yet so I will look into that. Thanks

Busted up battery trays was why i did this:

Definitely one of the better mods i've done.

I had actually tossed around the idea of doing that exact thing. I guess I will see how it works where it is and change it if or when it breaks.

Nice--you did it exactly how I helped a friends

do you have any pics of where the bed sides and floor meet? maybe some of the bed also?

Did you shorten the floor or lengthen the sides at all?

those are the only pics I have right now. The sides came in a little bit so we just welded sheetmetal to cover the gap. And where the bedsides met the floor we just welded up wherever the touched.

Hey Rene,
Great idea   !!

I going to use that on my rig. I'll name it "The Rene Box" after the person who gave me the idea :D !!

Looking great, I subscribed to this so I can look at it in the future when I taper my front clip.:thumb:

I have some detail pics of the mounts for the front fenders and such if you ever need them. There are a bunch that I didn't post.

I would like to see how you bolted the fender to the rad support. also did you skin the fender back by the body or just bend around it. the fenders don't look like they are kinked like the others on here.

how much did everyone take out of the back?
i took 17" from each side of mine then later on took 3" more per side. taillights sat right on top of the frame

I used the stock mount for the fenders and cut them to fit.

As for the fender, I did skin it and angle it in. I wanted to not have the crease in it. I had to take out the blower motor/ac unit.

blazd88 - I am probably going to Las Cruces but am not taking my Blazer. Only going to be riding. Although I may go to the Canadian that weekend.

thanks. :waytogo: those were exactly what I needed to see to proceed with mine. luckily I have an extra rad support to play with.
