National Get together of K-5s (EAST Coast) July 2007 UPDATED 4-10-07!

if you ever take the time and look at the bottom of the main page you will see at any given time there are 70 to 120 members online at one time....then there is like 200 to 300 registered users all the time on.....you dont seem to understand that the supporters of this site and have kept it running all theese years are paid members...so when a non member (especially one that has been one for a long time)comes on here and bad mouths a event cause there wont be give aways or t-shirts there i have no time or tolerance for that person...like i said they have done a great job with this event and there is alot of time and work that goes into this sort of thing with out having someone complain about t-shirts...

They, both past and present have done a great job with the event, no doubt about that, but what made you think i was whining about wanting tshirts and giveaways? I was just suggesting that like most any event, they have a Tshirt associated with it. And for bad mouthing, i said nice attitude because he said "wasting time with someone who isnt coming" when i could infact be coming next year.

And i remember back last fall i think it was the original planner had talked with BFG about either having a donation certificate to give away to one of the attendees.. I was just curious about what had happend to it. If metdrops still has it he might get in trouble with BFG for "keeping it for himself".. Just something to think about...
Shiprekt you said you PMed him with no response? How long since he was last on? it might be worth contacting BFG about just to keep him out of trouble..I havent been on Ck5 recently so i dont know the whole story about him.

Twoslo - thanks for the kudos, that still won't earn you a spot on my hood though..lol

Afufo - text is sometimes hard to detemine how it's meant. There's a world of things to consider putting something together like this and unfortunately, you know going into it that some are going to see it as slighted.

Location is obviously a major factor for everyone. But let's now consider the backside of the location. Does the state require an OHV Permit? turn around time on it? Fees? Can the place hande ALL levels of rigs? What if one breaks down and needs towed? can a trail be accessed easily to do so? Could it be repaired in short order to help them salvage the weekend? Is there a place to camp? trailer parking? travel time for supplies? How about experienced guides for the terrain and trails? Cost for them? I think you see the point here.

There are reasons for name changes, specific locations, and so on. It's hard to know unless you're the one trying to make it work.

My priority is for whether it's one rig or hundred, for them to have a flat out awesome wheel'n time. Whatever extras can be thrown in on a day of wheel'n, then that much better.

I haven't heard from Metro since he dropped the pill about it. Without going too deep into it, I considered the fact that the future of the event may be dependent on any "past" dealings and leave a sour taste with certain entities. NO matter who is running it.

The name change, different organizers, ec... would be a different ball game so to speak.

Hopefully you can understand that encryptic message.. lol

I will figure out a way to somehow...lol....i give you props because your doing something that i wouldnt want to do or care to do....but hopefully will enjoy...i have a hard enough time trying to get a meet and greet orginized let alone a wheeling event...

Yeah it came out good lol. Definitely doing a great job with a great view on it once you consider all of those points.. I even agree on the namechange now.

I apologize for my arguments and hope you and twoslo can accept.. I hope to join you in 2008.

As far as i am concerned, this is a new event for the "east coast" from the beginning its just some of us getting together to do some wheeling and make it a yearly thing like the event they have on the west. Blazers, jeeps, burbans,
yugo's, and whatever else you own, bring it.
If the bells and whistles of t-shirts, key chains, bras, and thongs labled summer blaze is included then so be it, if not i dont care. lets all just go and have fun and make a yearly habit of it.

Also, i see a few people dropping out becouse their rig is not going to be ready, that fine still come and have a great time. i have also seen a couple people reply that they are not ready cause their truck isnt built enough. you do not need a truck that can climb boulders to play. you should bring your truck to the event and atleast play on some small stuff. You do not need to go all out barrels a blazing just to have a good time.
so lets all just get along and come to the event and have a good time. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Well said.

It's a new event and there are bound to be disagreements between organizers and attendees. Just remember that putting together an event takes a lot of personal time and dedication, you can't please everyone. While you may not agree with each about the details do your best to keep the discourse civil and make the event a success.

Twoslo - careful there buddy, might make ya ride with the wife, at least in the Blazer you'll be hi-n-dry, with her, you might have to have a dry suit and a helmet with ya.. lol

Afufo - man, no need to apologize. questions are just that. The boards are full of misunderstandings so no worries.

I will say this though, keychains have a special way (clink clink against the steering column) of reminding you of what the mall crawlers are missing :O}

And Jiminy - Who asked you???!! - lol - jk...

:doah: - ok, that was a mod I just did that to. Don't ya hate people who can't handle their coca-cola and wear womens panties?

Not a problem, I like a good joke. :D

Jiminycriket, thanks

Shiprekd , you have stepped up to the plate and that is great.
keep doing what your doing and if you need a hand, i am sure
someone will help if they can.

Toslo4fiveo, you wouldnt last to long in prison , j/k
just kidding, you have some good points yourself.
its a lot of work to crank up something new, but speaking
from experience, it can grow into something awesome.

Afufo, its all about having fun. if you are able to come to this event
i will bring to a t-shirt saying whatever you want :D

:D Na cant make it this year..Original beta-plan was to hitch a ride up with muddybuddy if i couldnt take my own truck but we never really talked about that and hes not going anyway..

And my truck definetly isnt ready to go. I finally got it running again 20 mins ago and 30 seconds after it comes back to life, POP! :yikes: Out flys the accumulator + snap ring + spring +fluid from my freshley rebuilt TH350.. Took a few minutes to put it back in and it seems fine..Gotta get driveshafts in to see if it will move though

Oh, Scrappy.. Is there any chance you have a great dane too? Just curious as to the reason of your name..

thats to bad. just keep working , ya never know where you will be in two weeks.
i did not know james(muddybuddy) wasnt going. i need to call him.
his buddy protech isnt going either, man o man.

anyone have an up to date count of how many are still attending?

lmao !!! . no great dane. just a name i was given many many years ago.
never really thought about using it again till someone called me scrappy one day and my son scrappy two.
so i figure i would apply it to where it fits

Well he wasnt going when i talked to him a few days ago..but that could of changed.

Edit- Thats cool man. My name is an anime related name from the last century that i have kept..

i talked with him last week and he was working on his steering.
i guess i am going to be a one man in a caravan, lol. :(

sounds like a sweet idea, im in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

<--- jottin down Jiminy's nick for future reference..

All kiddin aside, I really don't have a good count. From talkin to others in other places, I know we'll have at least 15-20 rigs there and a few hitcher's.

A small group of red rigs, some black, a few blue and a fair amount of green. But.. We'll probably ween the greens into blue by the end of the day :O}

Going to try to coordinate everyone to all catch up with the extreme guys on "O" tail. Only two so far has made it up over the new ridge. Some real sick lines and it should be a show in itself watchin those guys try...

Hey scrappy what parts of VA you from? Got any messengers? Shoot me an email if you wish to try and keep the offtopic stuff out of here.. Thanks

does anyone have a copy of the map from Rausch? they are updating their site and don't have the map up. I'm trying to figure out if I know the ridge you are talking about. how new is it?

go figure I have a map to Paragon in my truck but not one to Rausch. :doah:
