Lawrence,
I manage all club events for BF Goodrich. Can you provide some information on your event via email?

Thanks,

---------------------------------------------------

They have had their events manager contact me. So here is what I am going to tell them. That we are planing a east coast event of four wheel drive vehicles that will mainly be Chevy's but other vehicles will be there also. We will be holding it at Rausch Creek Off Road Park. It will take place on July 14, 2007. Many people are coming on July 13 and camping over till Sunday.

Rausch Creek Off Road Park is a Pennsylvania non profit organization devoted to providing a fun legal place for 4x4 off road clubs and organizations to go "wheeling." The park consists of 1,700 acres of easy, intermediate, and hard trails. Rocks, bowls, hills, the glacial "Rock Creek", club friendly trails.

We are planing on having group rides and would like to have some companies there that are related to the off road community. Maybe bring some products, literature and examples of their work. We are asking GM to bring a couple of New vehicles for show only.

We are seeking no funds from any company but welcome any assistance they would offer. We will be giving some random prizes away to the people who attend the event.

Thank You;

(insert event name)

-----------------------------------------------------------

OK guys input on how this sounds and what do you want to see.

Also need some to get a name for the event!

All in all it is starting to come together! :wink1:

You might want to think about registering with an 4WD org like United 4WD Association www.ufwda.org I know BFG has worked with Southern 4WD for years as a major sponsor of Southern's Dixie Run. People like to see a stable name when hading out money. Good luck.

I would like to see CK5 get behind this so they could handle the funds if any were donated. Even though I would prefer that no money be donated but would take shirts or other items to give out. I would hope that some one would be willing to step up.

I have gotten five emails of people coming and I have my three and what we have here makes about 12 or 15 and I think we have some jeepsters interested too.

I don't know if it's going to make any difference or not,but the summer jamboree is being held in Bloomsburg PA at about the same time.I don't know if this is going to make it more crowded at Rausch Creek or not, might want to check with them.I also don't know if it effect the attendence too.I myself would wheel long before seeing alot of show trucks.Something to think about.

Bloomsberg 4x4 Jamboree
Start Date: 07/07/2006
End Date: 07/09/2006
Region: Region D
Producer: Region D
Location: Bloomsberg
State: PA
Type: JAM

Like most 4-Wheel Jamborees, this event is held at the local fairgrounds, where rows upon rows of shined-up custom trucks vie for attention. Stock and chromed rigs alike cruise up and down the walkways, with flags fluttering out the back as they idle past onlookers and participants

Where as Rausch Creek Off Road Park is made up of trails and various things. We will be out on rides and not just idling along some gravel walkway. These two events should not be a problem as far as competing and it might be a positive. I believe that Lynn is aware that we have basically set July 13, 14 & 15, 2007 as the date.

I do not know the date that they have set for the Bloomsberg 4x4 Jamboree in 2007 as their event is 07/07-09/2006. I have emailed the organizer to find out the dates for 2007 so we shall see.

I would like to toss this name out since it would cover all "Trail Blaze 2007". How about we try working these words as a combo
  • PA
  • Romp
  • Rausch
  • Trail
  • summer
  • 4 wheel
  • 4x4
  • Come up with your own
To make this interesting I will give the person who comes up with winning name a $50.00 gift certificate to LMC Truck or to their Pay-Pal account.

UPDATE: OK have received a second email from BF Goodrich and we are working out the details. I will keep you all posted and start thinking on who else you want to come.

Any one had any thoughts for the name thingy yet? Remember try to cover all types of vehicles in the name. The one we choose will get a $50.00 LMC Truck gift certificate or $50.00 to their Pay Pal account.

I also need to get an updated head count of how many will be attending or are planning on attending.

Why do we have to worry about covering all makes? This isn't some politically correct hug fest where we have to worry about hurting someone's feelings.
Nobody cares if a "Jeeper Jamboree" is vehicle-specific or not.
Nobody gets their panties in a wad about an event named after Harley-Davidson, even if all bikes are welcome.
We can call it what we want, as long as we don't exclude anybody from actually attending. Since the idea is being born on a K5 web site, I think we'd be completely justified naming it accordingly.

And I still like "Blazer Daze '07". :D

I agree with Goldwing.. besides most of the non Chevys attending will prob be friends of the people from here.

as for names:: K5's at the Creek. Blazin the creek.

Thanks,Rob

1.) Well I am kinda partial to SUMMER BLAZE but you all tell me this is for you guys so what you all decide is what we will call it.

2.) The reason I keep pushing the email is so I can give a count when asked. I got a reply from BF Goodrich and they are asking for numbers.

3.) F.Y.I. the count is up to 19 trucks as of 5:00 pm eastern time zone.

Badlands, Tellico, or Paragon.

Have it either in the early winter(November or Decemeber) or later winter(January or February).

They are all awesome parks that have stuff for everyone.

Sorry, been EXTREMELY BUSY, as you guys can see I'm still not a member, and probably wont be for another month or more =(, Funds are very tight, I need a real job, I will be there if i can get my truck in order by then, and if i have the funds to make a safe trip. It honestly all depends on how much money i can get before the event, I'm gonna start looking soon, hope to get a part time job at subway. that plus lawn mowing, plus every other Saturday at the auto shop cleaning floors should get me enough to go.

Plus, My tranny just died, I will hopefully be getting another one for free from the PO, but no guarantees..
I will discuss the date with my family, but it sounds like a great date for me, I also like the name Summer Blaze, or Blazin summer.

How bout, Jimmys Blazin at the creek? or Jimmys blazing the creek, Jimmys blazin the trails.

Something to work in the name Jimmy as a pretend person, and of course blazer or blazin.. :doah:

GM Fullsize Franchise? Lol..
GM Fullsize Funrun
"Hondas wont make it" (Stupid, but im tired)
No Hondas Allowed
BLAZIN Fullsize funfest
K5 Weekend War
Fullsize Weekend War
Weekend Washout
GM Fullsize War
Blazin fullsize weekend. (I like this one)
Blazin Blast

Lol i really need the $50 :haha:

Disneyworld this fall with the entire family clan is gonna put a crunch on the money for a while.. Im pretty sure the date is perfect for us, but the funds may not be. Im most likely going though but i cant promise it.

Ummmmm

I just relized something, How the heck will i get back if i break something?? The gas will eat any of my saved funds..
Dont have a trailer to haul it up, And im bound to break SOMETHING with my 10 bolts, 3.73s and gov-lock on 35s. Not a chance in hell of getting better axels by then..

Dont suppose anyone would be willing to give my jimmy a ride up? :haha: im in hampton roads in virginia .. Chesapeake, VA

I may just have to go up with MuddyBuddy, Dont know if hes got a trailer, Or perhaps we could ride up in the stock Z71 and hitch a ride? Ill have to catch him on AIM.
I was fairly certain i would be able to get up there and go on the trails, but i never thought about getting back. Yes, I am a n00b.

Ill do some thinking and asking and ill update on whats going on

No problem

Uhaul has dollies or you wait and see if you break anything. Me I am going on the soft trails no rock climbing. I was told "your not doing that, the mud will get inside". But I got the last word! I told her yes dear.:rotfl: Here are what the trails look like.
