NY Need 700R4/NP 208 cross member

Okay I see how you're going about this. Now lets see some pictures for solid proof. How can I learn something new if I don't see the proof? Everything I learned I did hands on and saw with my own two eyes. I didn't rely or fall back on to books to tell me this or that.

Okay, tit for tat

1988 unmolested documented V30 with 11429 ORIGINAL MILES, 454 vin code W.

Your turn.

Image installed crossmember from any legit non-California 87-89 V2 or V3 with 8th digit VIN T, M or W, with anything but a W double hump.

I've got two more, 89's, in queue once I contact the owners. You're up, I think the post ends here as I don't believe you will find a legitimate counter.

You learn something new every day. These trucks by the codes you quoted must be rare since I've never seen one in person. Nor saw pics of either. Thanks for the lesson. Always good to learn more.

How common was it to find an '87-'89 V20/30 with carburetors? I've never seen one. And does the fact a truck with a carb from factory determines that it will have the W-shape 'member while the TBI trucks used the other type 'member? Not picking a battle but rather just asking questions to learn more. It seems like specific trucks with carbs and 'members can be found mostly in certain areas rather than all over the nation. I've crawled around numerous, numerous trucks of various years just to study them and can honestly say that I've never seen a carbureted V-series truck nor the W-'member.

I'm curious about this as well. Not interested in fights or debates, but always eager to learn new things.

They're probably more common than any of us realize. I can think of four recently.

88 V30 454W crew cab Kittery fire truck, for sale now, newly acquired by second owner. Kittery Maine, now Kingston NH
89 V3500 GMC 454W 135.5 chassis cab former dump. Looked at to buy this summer but had a rotted frame. Lebanon Maine
89 V3500 Chevy or GMC 454W dump 135.5, parts truck, bought 454 H5D harness, engine brackets, etc. this summer, Hooksett NH
88 V30 Chevy dump, 350M, 159.5" WB, 50K cemetery truck, parted because of cracked frame. winter 2010/2011. Lebanon Maine

Yes, carb/leaded gas with factory stainless duals versus TBI/unleaded and cat. single exhaust dictated crossmember, fuel filler necks etc.

Leaded gas in 1988? I thought the EPA had finished squashing leaded gasoline by 1986. Where would you be able to buy it after the phaseout? :dunno:

The other caveat for fuel is domestic versus export. My 85 has a leaded gas filler neck. The parts book lists 14071921 for cat trucks and 14071923 for non.
