Looks like my stock transmission crossmember won't work for my longer 4L80. Any leads on someone that makes them? TNA (Total Naked Auto) use to (pictured below) but looks like they closed down at this time.

I'd be interested in this too. I'm using the factory crossmember and it leaves some to be desired.

Same here. Was planning on making one with the stocker but this is something I think I’d just prefer to buy.

Sucks about TNA. I totally forgot they had one.

Yep, glad that I got his engine crossmember and mounts already. I would have liked to get the trans crossmemeber and the gas tank skid too. The gas tank slid was pricey, but I haven't seen another option.

If nobody can make one I can look at getting one custom made locally and doing a couple more for others if there's any interest.

BTW I contacted TNA and got this message back

Hey Shawn, sorry man, but I'm closed down for at least a few months now. Landlord decided to sell the building I was in, and now I have to move shop and probably scale down a bit. It will take me a while to figure out where I want to go from this point forward.

That's a bummer. I bought some motor mounts from him and he seemed like a real good dude and was easy to work with. Hopefully he gets up and running again soon, I never got a chance to order an engine and trans crossmember...

I sent a message to kert for him to check this thread. It sounds like there is at least a small market for a solution.

For driveshaft travel and / or angle vs crossmember interference, I wonder if Kert could go over the driveshaft instead of under? Like this -

I thought about this as well. Hooker makes one for the C10 but it has similar shape as above. The only thing I worry about is if you clock your tcase up. I just bought a clocking ring too.

That being said, I just found a rare 1991 K30 4L80e 4x4 crossmember and bought it for $50. Its being shipped now. No pictures of it yet.

Yeah, any scenario will get tricky somewhere. My case is clocked up 2" and I sectioned and added a drop to clear the shaft and it's way low. I think I'd rather go above even if it was crazy tall rather than have it hanging down ready to grab stuff. I would think that 1/2" thick bent plate could handle the load task and would be way less invasive than DOM or box tubing.

That would be a bitch to package up and over while trying to maintain strength. Depending on how much your clocked and what size CV/shaft it could be a real PITA.

I can see that. The flip side is my stock, flat style crossmember hangs about 3" below the frame and the piece I added (section of 3/8" thick round tubing the width of the crossmember) hangs down about 3" more. It's ugly and low. Just thinking outloud...

and a sh*t ton more clearance than most others on 40's I bet.

I agree. Here's the one Hooker makes. By the way... don't ever search for "Hooker Crossmember" or you get some weird porn shit... :D It has the RWD trans holes but those can be re-drilled I imagine. Some guy wrote a review on Summit and said it worked on his K10.

Not to nit-pic, but that would be 1991 V3500. ;)
My bad. LOL

Great info guys!

Who wants to be the guinea pig???? :rotfl:

Seriously though, can we get some pics of what some others have done? I know @Tweekls1 has a pretty nice setup.
