Need advice on repairing paint and repainting fiberglass top on a '90 Jimmy 1500

they overbaked the top surface primer on those rigs... thus the peeling.. I used to do those for warranty at our collision shop...... we'd strip em to the primer with single edge razor blades...

just sand the paint off and get to the primer, roof and more than likely hood.... once the primer has a nice 320 to 400 cut on the whole thing, the paint will stick fine...

Thanks, I didn't know why, I just knew that I'd seen alot of hood and roof paint problems. The hood has been replaced due to my wife letting it roll across a parking lot and hit a steel pipe about 10" in dia. full of concrete, you know, the ones that are yellow and have the blue signs on top that say "Handicapped Only". It was Thanksgiving morning and she had forgot something. How she got it cut off and the key out without it being in park, she must have really jerked the key. She was pissed that morning. Hit it dead center of the front end at about 5 - 10 mph. It got a new hood, radiator, A/C condenser(?), bumper, etc.

I'll get started on that in a couple of days. We're supposed to start getting some rain in the next couple of days and what is a "Puppy Fabricator", one that just started? (Hard to believe)

Thanks,Paul
