Hello Everyone,

Thank you for taking time to read this. When I was 16 I bought a 1986 K5 Blazer as my first truck. It was so great, 454 Big Block, TH400, Custom Interior. It was beautiful. Unfortunately I had to sell it but now i'm ready to buy it back 12 years later. It was my first car, i'm in love with it. Picture Gallery - http://goo.gl/BMt9U

I've gotten very close but I can't seem to find exactly where it is and was hoping some of you could help?

It is a 1986 Chevy K5 Silver in Color "Invader 454" motor, TH400 Trans, it had the factory spoiler on the top and even the origianal key guards on the doors so you wouldn't scratch it. The interior was completely custom with newer seats from a suburban and all new carpets, dash etc. Of course that was 12 years ago.

I also have the VIN number and know it's currently located in either Newport NC or Morehead City, NC. Any help locating this vehicle would be amazing. I would like to purchase it back if possible.

If you get a good line on where it is and need someone to take a pic or speak to the owner for you I live right by both of those places.

Thanks ScottishDave. I'm trying to find someone in one of those areas that may have seen it or may know where it is now.

If I do find it I would love to get a current picture or updates on it. If I can communicate with the owner I def want to try and buy it back.

In what I have found I show the last sale from Newport to Morehead City on September 2011 so it wasn't sold that long ago.

Thanks for the help.

Newport and Morehead are only 10 minutes apart, same county. Probably about 45 minutes away from me if the traffic is bad. No real reason for people who live there to come down to my area, so i doubt that i will see it on chance.

But let me know if you get a lead, I will do what i can to help.

I ran a carfax. That's how I keep up with it and also know it was last registered in Morehead City NC but it won't give me the owners info.

I bet if you call the DMV and tell them your story they'll give you the name of the new owner.

I FOUND IT!!!! (I think)

It hasn't been verified yet but I have a name and address from an anonymous person that has seen it in Morehead City NC.

Anyone around that area feel like driving by and taking some pics?? PM me if you're interested.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same story....different truck! :waytogo:

I was like you, trying to find my old truck from 12 years ago or so. I sold mine in Seattle because of new baby, and lack of access to the back seat. Now that my girls are much bigger, I've always love that old truck.

Every time I visited Seattle, I drove around hoping I could find it. No luck.

I called the DMV and they said they couldn't release the address to me or even the name. I had a friend who had the ability to "look him up" from a VIN one day (nice he did that for me for sure!) I called the guy and he said he just sold it and the new owner turned it into a "rock crawler".....hacked it all up! I pretty much signed it off at that point.

Out of curiosity, I checked the carfax and noticed a new entry so figured it was at least "licensable". So I checked Seattle craigslist every once in a while and emailed any person with a white blazer asking for the VIN/condition. One guy finally came back with the same VIN! Unbelievable! Tried haggling a bit but finally told him this was my old truck and bought it for $3500. Sweet!

Good luck finding yours!:thumb:

Just got your PM...I probably have nothing to do Wednsday so i could check it out then for you, The weekend at the absolute latest.

I think it.might be registered at a work address so let me verify so I don't waste your time.

Congrats :waytogo: very cool :woot:

I've been quietly following along and keeping my fingers crossed for you :D. I did the same thing years ago with my first car, a CJ5. Sold it when in high school and tried to find it and buy it back years later but with no luck.
Hope it works out for you :sign29:

Even if it is a work addy just let me know. I can swing by there on working hours and see if its in the parking lot. Leave a note for the owner or something.

Quick Update. I have found the Blazer and even found a picture of it on Facebook from a distance. It looks unchanged from what I can tell, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed its in good shape.

I've sent a Facebook message to the current owner and I am now just playing the waiting game for him to read it and get back with me. I'm so excited, like a kid waiting for Christmas.

Well there goes my day pf detective....

I was pretty excited to put all these Clandestine Reconnaissance and Surveillance skill's I have learned the last year to some use.
