need help on dana 60-ADDED- D 60 rebuild question

How do you get the lower kingpin bearing cup out!??! Got the cap/plate, the bearing and everything else. Out. But there's a little tin cup that I'm not getting for my life. What am I missing??

You will have to destroy that tin cap that gets sandwiched when you install the lower bearing race. When you buy a rebuild kit that includes the lower parts that tin cap will be included. I might also mention that I have the required 600 ft/lb torque wrench for torquing the king pin. :thumb:
 
Whewww!!! I am glad you said that cuz I've already got three holes punched in it from abusing it. Is there any tricks for getting the race out of the way?
 
if you use a socket that fits tight threw the hole you see the tin cup. it should drive out the lower race also.

i always add a thin film of rtv to the new tin cap to seal it to the lower area from water getting in.
