On my dads truck whey you apply the brakes you can hear a squeek coming from the LH front tire, i inmediatly thought it was a bad bearing, before i tear it apart wht do you guys think.

Also what are the torque specs for the spindle nut, i see various numbers on the net from 120ft/lbs to 150ft/lbs and 175ft/lbs

Thanks.

You shouldn't have to take spindle nut off to.do brakes. For bearing yes, but make sure its not just a brake noise

Its not a brake pad noise (screeching) its more like a wet fart kind of noise when braking.

If it's a bearing it will make a growling noise, usually gets louder as your speed up, and usually when you turn it will make itself known which side. Sounds to me though it is probably brakes by what you describe.

You think?? i cant imagine how a brake pad can do that kind of noise i mean if it were made of beans or lettuce then yeah why not hahaha kidding..:D still ill jack it up and try to move the tire that will determine if its wht i think or not.
