Need to see the light

I see you can buy the tombstone connectors for pretty much whatever bulb type you want to use. Probably easier and better to just mount the tombstone connectors.

I just ordered a batch of 12 72W 8ft led lights. Cheapest I could find. Output per unit is supposed to be over 8000 lumens. It is funny, they actually mount with clamps like diesel4me suggested. They also look exactly like the light thatk30guy posted, I bought the batch of 12 for $200.

Are you happy with that purchase and are the lights holding up?
To be honest...….they're still in the box. :ROLFLMAO:

But a friend who referred them to me swears by them as he has the exact same ones I have hanging in his shop and also at his business in the back work rooms. Have to admit I was very impressed with them and their brightness. As of today he says no problems or complaints with them.

Mine were in the box for 48 hours. Now they are up. Before and after. The before pic is really not as bright as it looks. The after picture doesn’t quite do it justice. Smart phone Smart camera... I’m sure it has a dumb mode for the camera, apparently I’m not smart enough to turn it on.

in case you are wondering why it’s so empty, I just had the floor poured last week. Haven’t had time to fill it back up yet.

Hang on to that picture. If you are like me and most everybody else around here, its the last time you will see that much of the floor.
I'm guessing, no fixtures. How does the tombstones stay on the bulbs? When I tried to mount my two pin ones, the tombstones could just slide off the end. In my case, down in the swamp, the rafters were not the right distance apart to mount them directly, and I didn't have any scrap lumber to attach to the rafters to mount the tombstones on. So, I went with the solder on wires.
It looks like behind the glare, that you attached some boards and mounted the lights on them.
I have not worked with the 8 footers, were they as bright as you thought?

All in all, looks good.

Oops, just went back and reread some things. I'm guessing that the bulbs you bought had the plug in connector. I was thinking you had bought the single pin 8 footers with tombstones.

I was thinking about that but these plug ins are just too easy and weren’t much more expensive than just the bulbs. And yeah, the floor looks so nice I hate to put anything back in there but it won’t last long looking like it does. The shop at the far end is stuffed. Just picked up 2 78” long shelving units at HD today. They are up along the left side wall where the orange tractor is sitting.

The wood wall to the left of the opening will be a bench with toolbox just to the left of the shop opening Maybe... still trying to figure out how to lay it out. I’m spending some quality time sitting up there beer in hand, just looking at it and wondering wtf to do next. :dunno:
