New "do everything" truck

Remember when everyone was bitchin about these “new body style” trucks a few years ago?
Remember when you had a carb’d truck, and had to go out, scrape the snow and ice off, then get in it and pump the throttle a couple times, start it, wait for a minute or two to kick it off high idle, then go back in the house half frozen….
yeah, they don't build em like they used to….lol

The heated seats aren't that big of a deal, but I would love to put a heated steering wheel in everything I drive.

We had a nice visit, my Mom enjoyed meeting you guys too! I had to double check she hadn't kidnapped Puss the cat when we left...

Out of curiosity I tracked the fuel mileage, and the new truck managed a very decent 18.48 mpg (US gallon) with an average cruise speed of 72 mph.
My 2017 1500 could hit 19-20 mpg on the same trip, but only in warmer weather. For whatever reason in the cooler winter temps the mileage dropped by at least 20% with that truck. I'm guessing the Dmax might do even better when it's not using winter fuel.

Do you use miles because you are talking to us Southern lunkheads, or is that normal?

Would 12.7 litres/100km mean anything to you? It hardly means anything to me. What means something to me is MPG, but to the larger imperial gallon which is what I grew up with (4.54 litres, versus 3.78 litres).

Anyways, I figured it'd be easiest for anyone reading this if I just did the math and presented the mileage in good ol Red, White and Blue terms. :waytogo:

Canada hasn't been metric since the beginning of time. The switch was 1978 when I was a teen. I grew up with miles and only grudgingly use metric now.

Always good to see you guys.
I was kind of sad your mom didn’t kidnap Puss. Lol.
Your fuel mileage is very similar to what our truck gets. I’m happy with that for how much power these trucks have.
