When it goes, I can order and be done and not wait until the figure it out with a thread or whatever.If you have a lifter that keeps getting loose, either the nut is loosening, or that lobe is toast and it just keeps wearing more lobe off. Which also means the metal particles would be going through your engine oil.
If its just out of adjustment, you adjust it once, and it should not come back.
And Kain is correct, a single cylinder exhaust leak at the cylinder head sounds a lot like a lifter tick too.
Besides, I want a new engine. I replaced everything else on this darn truck but that.
Changing oil tomorrow and will post pics. Will drive and see if that lifter keeps coming loose. I will say, it did get louder each time I drove it or so it seemed. The exhaust leak may have been masking some of that noise.
