New guy here with a 90 K5

Welcome.
Its a good idea to put removing those front blocks on your list. Even if it is just a trail truck.

Nice catch. I did not see those.

@creature Post some pictures front the front and back showing the suspension. The blocks between the leaf springs and the front axle are a big fail. Borderline dangerous. The rear having blocks is not optimum, but not a "kill you and a bus load of nuns, dead" kind of thing like in the front.

Since I've first posted here, I've done the following:

* removed the front tires
* removed the calipers
* removed the seats and all carpet
* removed the steering box and rag joint

Overall not bad. Just putting correctly sized front springs and new ubolts will fix the front block problem.
The transfer case crossmember has been dropped by those little spacers. Very typical of most lift "kits" but it can cause frame cracks at those bolt holes. It hurts more than it helps. But changing it could snow ball in to a mess.

What is the "correct" size? Meaning longer? Or more leaf? Or if it's one in the same.

Lift springs basically come in sizes of lift. You have what appears to be 4" springs with a 2" block. So 6" front springs should put you with no change height wise but that problem fixed.

Ah gotcha, I follow you now, so it basically gets rid of the blocks. Pretty easy change? Can you recommend one? Link to one?

Its easy if you can safely support the frame without the truck falling on you. It can be a lot of work though without the right tools. Sometimes spring bolts can be siezed in the sleeves.
You'll need new ubolts as well. Generally you want to change them each time they are torqued down.

if you were closer I have some 6" Skyjacker springs I would sell you but shipping those would cost a lot.

I’ve just about given up on wheels, probably spend the money on paint. :dunno:
