New guy Mike, checking in (camper questions)

It was before he unlisted it and if I remember correctly it was the Kingman area.

Edit: Golden Valley, AZ Jacob Tomaszewski was the guys name on Facebook

That jives with the IG handle I saw on a post with the grey one.

I shot a message through Instagram to him to inquire if it's still for sale. I'll let you know once he responds.

Lookout my chalet tipped over again,,3rd time this week,,it's like the Flintstones car with that big rib on it. It's so top heavy, ,when I take off it pops a wheely, thank gm for that hang over,,steel less then a suburban. .....ha,ha

Wasn't there a ratty one for sale somewhere for 3500ish in colorado?

I am going to stick with my Chalet. You will be surprised just how far off road one can be takin. I did that the year the Arizona Diamondbacks won the world series as i popped a front tire and then popped the spare which stranded me over night. Thank god i was able to get a call out to a friend of mine who knew exactly where i was.

Lighter yes...but the chalet excels in cutting the wind and getting rather good fuel mpg's due to that fact. However a rear sway bar helps as well as the 3/4 axle up grade due to the extra weight the 15 inch tire sidewall of the day didn't have enough poop in the sails to hold her up in turns...

Thanks for the colorful commentary! I definitely know that I don't want a Chalet though.

I think that azblazer went to bb03 with his chalet, end didn't tip over once ,I think that the chalet is built right,, the 2nd seats convert in to the bed,not 5 feet off the floor, u don't need to pop the top to sleep in the bed,the refrigerator is by the back door so u can get cold one with out going all the way in,all the weight is under 50"from the floor that less then the top of a suburban.

Thanks or all the free bumps guys but I know that I definitely want an FWC and not a Chalet.

and also @a77blazerchalet he is the gurru for blazer/jimmeys with factory chalet campers . and finds others in his search he would be a good one to talk with .

Overlooked this thread 'til just now. FWC units are more practical, that's for sure. In my assorted searches for Chalets & Casa Grandes, I do run across occasional FWC units mislabeled as Chalets, along with the random Hallmark units and every once in a long while, the even less seen Sportsman units that were made in British Columbia. Don't know of any of those aftermarket units recent enough that still have functioning ad web links.

Thanks for the note. I have noticed that a lot of people mislabel the campers. Thank you for offering to keep an eye out. Im ready to buy as soon as I find one, even if its just the camper Ill grab it on a trailer ha. I see you are in Phoenix also, do you currently have a chalet? If so, any chance Id be able to check it out?

Chalet owner, past tense. Small part of the story here. Poverty intervened during the ownership of it, and cash is king in times like that. Working on ways to extricate myself out of poverty, but I'll drive off that bridge when I get to it.

As far as carrying the Blazer camper on a trailer, you will have to get creative to do that. This camper has no bottom. Since it attaches to the bed rail the back wall ends up being the lowest part. It will not sit flat on a trailer. I almost brought mine home this way but went ahead and pulled my factory top and installed the camper to travel 2 hours back home with the factory top on the trailer.

If you plan ahead and bring some sawhorses that are taller than the back wall hangs down and then you will need to strap it down to keep it from lifting since you will have a gaping hole in the front taking in air.

When we went after mine somebody brought that same fact to my attention so we switch gears to pull the top instead.

Here's hoping the dude that you've been talking to on wander the west will sell you his complete. That way you don't have to fool with it .

Im pretty creative, I can get it on a trailer.

Also yeah, sure would be nice if the guy who contacted me and said he had one for sale would actually sell it to me instead of saying he's going to wait for someone else to buy it. :screwy:

It's 19.5"from the floor of the bed to the top of the fender, if it hangover on the back you would need to add that too.if you build out of 2 x 4 "x 6'on both sides i think that would hold up .I have camper jacks from jc whitney that helps moving up and down. Good luck

Where I come from, cash talks, bs walks. I can't believe he'd be willing to wait when you made the offer to buy it now.

He may have someone actually interested and if so needs to have the discussion with them to gauge the commitment or not. If they aren't solid, cut bait.

Or he's not quite ready to sell and using that to buy some time to come to terms with the idea.

Been right where you are at, frustrated. One came up for sale when I was in the middle of our annual desert trip. I was sitting in my tent 12 miles north of I-70 in the San Rafeal swell Utah and still had cell service. Surfing Craigslist and found the only other loose camper I had seen before the one I got. I had no way to act on it. Bummed me out.

Small update, we are working through the details now. He is willing to sell it to me. Truck still has a New Mexico title but its in California. He claims the DMV said he can sell it with the NM title. Im not sure if calling the DMV in NM will verify anything for me but Ill try tomorrow. Its under his name and seems legit so far. Hopefully Ill be able to get to San Fran soon if our schedules work out. Sounds like it will likely have to be shipped to AZ because it runs and idles but doesn't drive well currently.
