New life for my '76 K10

It's been awhile.

Front lift went well. I finished up the day after I started it, around 2-3 weeks ago.

The only problem I ran into was the damn sway bar, it wouldn't line up with the center bolts on the springs... so I tightened the U-Bolts and smacked the sway bar pad things with a small sledge and got everything lined up right.

In my opinion the truck looks good. I just got the 33's put on today and it looks even better. The 31x10 or whatever they were looked pretty bad and really skinny.

Here's a pic from today after the tires were mounted. It's kind of got a little flex going on, not really though (Swaybar is still hooked up).

Thanks man.

I'm going to try and get your hoist back to you tomorrow. Did you ever swap the tranny out in your blazer?

No, I've just been working on the VW. Getting ready to pull the body off the pan on it so I can get it cleaned up and rolling.

I'm actually heading out TDY for a few days. So no worries on the hoist. But I'll be back around next weekend.:waytogo:

Just curious...why did you go with the replacement heater?

Because my wiring was all jacked up, I had fixed it (I don't know how), I unplugged all wires that led to the heater and hooked them back up and it worked for a little while and then one day it didn't work, I unhooked them all again and plugged them back up and the heater would only turn on when the ignition was off which obviously didn't do a thing for me.

The aftermarket heater I have now puts out more heat and the install and wiring was very straight forward. It's kind of loud when on the High setting, but It doesn't really bother me.

Just some photos.

Here's some photos of how the truck sits now and how it's gonna stay for now.

Looks good! :thumb:

Thanks! I think I'm done with it besides maintenance and fixing things that break. Has a little too much rust and electrical bugs for me to feel comfortable dumping more money into it. It's just a poser truck really that just get's me to work and sees light trails.

I'm going to put my plan up for my next (actual) build soon, it's going to take awhile to do what I want to the next one, but it will happen slowly.

Thanks man, I'm taking it one step at a time.

Im going to do a little bit of sanding once I make it down to KY and start primering the truck so it will all be he same color. Everybody at work calls my truck "The Chameleon" cause its like 6 different colors.

Thanks man, it's been a work in progress. Everything has been working good. I just have a few things to work on... Some of the wiring, mainly the tail lights and then I'm going to primer it so it's all one color.

I'm currently in search of a rust free, straight bodied K5 to be my DD (I sold mine back in Feb.). My shortbed is going to turn into the toy: 1 ton axles, TH350/205, 6"-8" lift, 37" tires and new gears.

I plan on doing the same to to the K5, 1 ton axles etc. etc.

I'm moving down to Fort Campbell, KY soon (KY/ TN border) and I'm pretty sure that they do more mudding there than crawling. So I'll be getting into that.

I know that this isn't very relevant to my thread, but I just wanted to share with everyone.

I picked up an '09 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon with 45,000 miles. I traded in my '06 Trailblazer which I wasn't a huge fan of. Got a GREAT APR and 6 year, 100,000 mile warranty for free basically. It's in great condition, interior is perfect and stain free. Hard Top, Smittybilt XRC bumper (just need to get as winch) factory size BFG Mud Terrains, about 95% tread.

Here are some photos:
