New PitBull Tires Introduced

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

It seems Tims head is inflatted . /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
some things need to be kept private and some do things to get a reaction some times when I am in the process of hiring people I give them a little bit of a run around to see how long their fuse is kind of like an attitude test it works well because sometimes after the first little bit of trouble they shoot off at the mouth and then you find out how big of an a55hole someone is with out going through the hiring process to find out/forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

Hey everyone. Mike from PitBull forwarded me to this thread because of the brief review above. Yes, I am a Jeep guy, please don't hold it against me. Additionally, I have been working with Mike on some testing of the Rockers for Xtreme OffRoad Magazine. I wanted to chime in for two reasons.
1. Mike and the whole PitBull team have been extremely helpful, responsive, and genuinely involved in the process.

2. Here's a picture:

If you have any questions, I'll answer what I can without giving away too much of the review before it comes out. Email me at [email protected]

PS: This is not a shameless plug for me, but a shameless plug for Mike and PitBull, they have been great.

Hint: Buy the tires now before the review comes out and the demand goes through the roof.

Any close pics you can show?

This is the best I can do. I am not allowed to post any pictures of the review, but this gives you an idea. Check out the blingin' wheels too:

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

Cool, what kind of wheels are those? Kind of reminds me of an old 85 CJ7 I used to have.

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

StazWorks double beadlocks. Coolest rims I've ever seen in my life. And not just because they are on my rig.

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

Ahh, OK /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

OK, rumor is these things are going to be priced similar or more expensive than TSLs. I don't know anyone that is going to spend as much or more for a tire that costs $250 such as a 39.5 TSL from a company that nobody has ever heard of and don't know if they'll still be around tomorrow.

In order for these "Pitbull" tires to be around in a few more years they'll have to outperform Interco's tires for less than Interco's tires.

I mean, they're cool looking and all... but so is a Thornbird. When you're talking about $250+/tire most of the general population going to stick with tried and true. You know a TSL probably won't be round when you get it, it'll have 25/32" of tread, they'll flat spot, and last you 10,000 miles.

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

Mike's company is around 70 years old and is one of the premier tire distribution companies in the Midwest. From a manufacturing standpoint, PitBull makes some of the best tractor pulling tires out there and has for years. Just because they are new to this market doesn't make them a new company that nobody ever heard of.

On the other hand, don't buy them. Just don't knock them until you've seen them work. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

that's just great, ProLine makes the best R/C car tires in the industry, but if they came out with a rock tire, almost nobody would know who the hell they are. on the other hand, just because people know the name doesnt mean the product is going to be good either.

ok, start winning some MAJOR comps with them, get the name out there in all the big publications and big media. SHOW us how they work. again, bring it to us, dont make us go to you. 4 Wheel Parts, Jegs, Summit, National Tire and Wheel, and a whole bunch of other vendors dont buy advertising space in EVERY magazine on the shelf because readers go looking for it. if its in your face, and you have seen the parts proven on other pages in the mag, you're going to be curious. they put the ads there for the most part to put the info in your hand. as proven by your treatment of Tim, you obviously are too lazy to care enough to take some initiative and make a few phone calls yourself.

you've pretty much sold me on a set of tires allright, but they say SUPER SWAMPER on the sidewall.

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

anybody else find it fishy that these guys bring in 2 new members to pimp the tires?

put em in the hands of someone we know and trust, then maybe you'll get some orders.

TOPICS

1. I agree that no one should pay $250 a tire for a 35x1450-15. As far as I know...they're for sale on a few websites from $206 (introductory price) to $232 a tire...depending on who you talk to.

2. As for Tim. The guy has spunk and is passionate about what he wants and what he believes in. I'm sure that he takes care of his customers and works hard to make sure things are right. We will be setting up dealers for quite a while and timing is everything. Sometimes it's just not the right time for one party or another.

But I do agree that some things should remain in the private rhealm between the parties.

3. As far as how long the tires last...that's a good question. We know that they're holding up after 5,000 miles with little noticeable wear. But as for guaranteeing mileage...I'll be able to answer that question this summer. We've run tests and they have been lasting longer than other similar tires. But I'm not going to lie to you guys...I really don't have a concrete answer for you...and I don't want to speculate.

But if they last just as long, for the same amount of $$$ and perform better than other similar tires...is that worth buying a set??? Of course we anticipate that they will outperform other similar tires.

4. I appreciate the positive comments. We are an old company and have been around for a long long time...been through a lot of good times and bad (more good than bad)...but we're still here.

Re: TOPICS

1. We didn't bring anyone in to pimp our tires.

2. Don't buy them until they've proven themselves.

3. We are going to be in the magazines, they have won a Rock Crawl competition and many reputable people have them and are testing them across the country.

Re: TOPICS

And as for us having bad attitudes or big heads or whatever.

I'm not sure where or why we've been targeted as such?

The only thing I am is proud to be a part of something new and exciting...something that I had a part in. I am very proud to introduce a quality alternative to existing products. And I am extremely proud to offer a product, made in America, that will prove itself by raising the bar for the other companies out there.

This results in better choices and options for the End Users who want to have a good time enjoying the sport they love.

If that makes me have a big head...then my head has definitely gotten too big for my own good.

Hell...if we don't believe in our products...why should anyone else?

And we treat people who call us with respect and dignity. Sometimes...especially in the holiday season...other things are going on which makes it hard for us to respond as quickly as we would like to get back to people. That's life. And sometimes...the reasons for us not being able to get back to people as quickly as we would like to...are personal reasons...involving a crisis...and not having anything to do with business.

OK, I am really going to have to call bullsh**. The reason I signed up on this forum is because Mike was excited about a positive review on this board and I wanted to check it out for background information on an article that I am doing. Believe me, if the tires suck, it will be in print in a national magazine. That is the risk they took by having us do the testing. We have not and will not sell out to anyone or any company. I did say that the StazWorks wheels were great, but everyone already knows that. As far as the tires go, they are still under review and a complete write up will be in our January issue. Now, to repeat myself. . .Mike and his company have been great to work with. . .that was all I was saying.

It really amazes me that some people can take something so far out of context and get so upset on the internet.

Even Mike said that you should see how they perform and what kind of reputation that they get before you buy. That is the very reason that we wanted to test them. He was willing to put his tires where his mouth is rather than just ramble on about crap that doesn't mean anything. Who else can do that???

And for the record, I personally have no offiliation with PitBull tires and my review will be objective based on their performance as compared to tires of similar specifications.

Buy what you want, I simply don't care. My job is to report on these things honestly. To that end, you haven't even read my review.. .hell, I'm not even done writing it. I do have a strong feeling that the review will be positive, but, hey, it is too early to tell. I've got at least 4 more days on the trails, rocks, snow, and sand with them before I have a really good idea plus the long term. . . .

Re: Pit Bull Rocker™ Extreme Off Road Tires

When and where can this reveiw be read? The 4x4 mags?
