This picture sickens me. All that bare metal (frame, lines, brackets, etc.) and not a single spec of rust anywhere. Around here, all that stuff would be orange and crusty :doah:

Maybe this will make you feel better? My fang rust,

And the only truck I have ever seen rust here.

Here is a pic of the new bracket. Had to do the old sacrificial socket truck. Also drove it for over an hour and a half yesterday and never had the belt squeak! So that was beautiful. Unfortunately, I have a tire ready to explode or a u joint that's bad even though they all seem goodntight as i am getting an awful vibration on the highway... Stupid vibrations!

I'd blame the tires. I noticed in your pics that they look old as dirt, I thought it was cool to see a truck that didn't have some modern looking tread pattern.

Im wondering the same thing. And yes, i do believe they are in fact as old as dirt. All my tires are! I guess you just dont wear them out as fast when you only drive each truck a quarter of the year and work is 2 miles from home... The tires that are on it now are the more all terrain looking ones on the chrome/black steel wheels. The aluminum wheel and mud terrains were borrowed off the burb for it while the burb was off the road for a while. I plan on doing a highly scientific test to determine the problem by putting the rear end on jack stands, blocking the front tires and running the truck up to 60ish MPH with the tires on/off to isolate the problem. If ts tires, i guess i'll just have to get a new set.

Speaking of tires, can anyone decipher when they were made? Im affraid this might mean they were made the 25th week of 91...

I don't think that is the spot, usually it's preceded with DOT, I do not see that anywhere, but yeah anything that is 3 digits is prior to 2000. Oh and they will always be on the inside of the tire, this is a white raised letters so it will have to be on the other side.
I have some tires that are about 18 years old, with good tread and still sticky enough, and no weather cracking.:dunno:

those tires arent new enough to have the date code on them.

do you want some descent burnt orange door pockets for that thing? i see that atleast your drivers one is m.i.a
