CO Springs aka where HELL froze over!
Hey Hey im B!ng The Barber and i just picked up my first k5 blazer yesterday. Its a 1983 4x4 with a 350.. its pretty much all stock and needs a few small things but im still liking the truck alot! I traded it for a project 1953 ford customline i had laying around that needed tonsssssss of work but the guy still wanted to do the trade so i didn't complain and now have the new title to my first K5! i would post pics but gota wait tell 5 post i guess lol.

I do have a few questions but not sure if this is the place to ask?

anyway im looking forward to working on her and meeting up and hitting some trails its been like 6 years since i been wheel'n!

Congrats man, can't wait to see the pictures, I would get them up mucho pronto, those are like porn to the folks around here

hahaha thanxs soon as i hit 5 post i will! but its nothing special! but i got plans for her! probly do a rough country 4" lift first with some 35's but gota take care of some small issues first. Like i think i have positive camber up front. one of my buddys thinks i might need to replace some bushings upfront. not sure. Need new windshield and a steering column due to the ignition is somewhat broke lol... its on a push button now lol. allso have noticed a little bit of coolant and i think i small oil drip i need to check out. once its mechanically sound i will move on to the lift and tires... then body work and paint! im super stocked on this right now!

These guys on here (excluding me) are a wealth of knowledge, ask away concerning anything and they can help you out.

Sweet rig, looks to be in nice shape!

What are your plans for it?

Clay

first fix small issues with it... then 4" rough country lift and some 35's then onto body and paint.... depending from there.... i use to be big into rock crawling... so who knows what might end up going onto the blazer lol... or i might just do a bigger lift and clean up the inside... but one thing is for sure im getting new exhaust asap!!!! got a leak and its annoying as hell along with the headache i get from driving it around! so probably get some duels out the back

oh boy, are you in trouble! :haha:

if you have any kind of itch to build something badarse, this place will feed it... :eek1:

all i say is, try to have some foresight when buying, building your drivetrain/suspension... nothing worse than buying parts twice... do it right, once..

and welcome to our home, we're here to help........ :D and yeah, a membership will be the best $25 you'll ever spend on the rig...

welcome to the forums. love the truck, id totally keep the 666 on there myself. :pimp:

if youre into crawlin, do some searching on here about 52in spring swaps, and shackle flips. that would give you your 4in lift and better flex than lift springs. youll probably have a 14 bolt rear axle recomended at some point to replace the 10 bolt thats in there, a 3/4 ton axle will bolt right in and is infinately stronger than the 1/2 rear axle.

and well played on the swap, you made out like a bandit. just like you will for the $25 bucks for the yearly membership :waytogo:
