HA funny you say that, another guy in the shop did DD15 head because the exh man gaskets fretted the sealing surface. lame. a gasket should never be harder than the material its sealing against
but after the gong show. someone rewrote the torque procedure for it
I don't know why so many north americans are so against the MBE and its european design characteristics. like the new DDs follow closely in. fact of the matter is European diesel technology, is a decade ahead of anything North America has to offer. Can't even get the Dough heads over here to accept diesel cars and small trucks.
couple months back we had a 250 hour western star 4900 window a DD15 in our yard. came in with a knock. a guy started it up to limp in to the shop and 1half way to the door. BANG. rod 2 lets go and cleans out both sides. detroit pulled one off the line and flew it up to replace it.
