newer (FI) tank in older (carb) K5

There's a big thread on that hose here:

My take is that WTF else would it be for besides fuel? I think it's a CYA thing on their part because ethanol blends might mess with it and they haven't tested every blend. I've had parts store fuel line spring leaks in one year. That was on my Scout, which sits a lot.

I'm not unwilling to pay money for fuel line that is guaranteed safe, I just don't know where to get it. That blue stuff has been in the Blazer and Scout for a few years and no trouble so far.

Stock setups are pretty much the same cars or trucks this vintage...solid lines with braided stainless sections from the engine/tank to the frame, steel lines on the frame.

Some cars used separate braided stainless sections, but on both ends of the truck I believe the flex sections were crimped to the hard line. I know they were for the front.

FWIW, If the stock stainless line isn't teflon lined, ethanol is eventually going to kill all of those as well, just not as fast as the in-tank one, since the braid is going to give the inner line some resistance to bursting.
