Vortecs are cylinder heads used from 96-00 on 5.7L truck engines, and will bolt on to any early SBC with minimal modifications
Oh, Vortec heads.. I see.... Well, the 350 is plenty fresh, and will pull those tires over 80 mph with the 3.73's..... so, I think I will leave it alone......for now... haha..
I will check out the vendor forum.. but someone recommend a selectable locker for a 14bff.... I think I can do this in stages... just get the 4 wheels, I am going to need eventually, but just use the rears for now, with a 14bff and selectable locker, that should get me though most mud, in 2 wheel drive....... I can do the front later, as I get the rest of the bucks together.. I figure a rear end is going to cost me 100-200, a locker around 4-5 and wheels and mounting another $100..... some new springs for the front, and I am at my 1000.00, with another 400-500 needed for the front... LOL, I can feel my wallet getting thinner as we speak......

, but you should have some experience first. You'll learn some throttle control running axles you are concerned about breaking. I've run 1/2 tons and had to watch the loud petal and most of the time had 1 tons with total disregard to breakage. One of my more fun trucks was a flatbed blazer running 10b 1/2 ton front/ 14b ff rear with 36/12.5 swampers front 35 bogger rear. The 14b did drag easily with these short tires, but the truck was alot lighter and more manuverable than my 1 ton sub on 44s.
. Being that I don't drive it much I haven't burned thru the bad fuel yet.
