No acceleration to pass (LY6)

Some years had screens made into the injector rails on multi-port injection,my older brother had a truck at his work that had "multiple misfire" codes and he replaced one injector,it ran good again for a while, but the issue returned on a different cylinder..

A dealer service dept manager told him there was a silent recall for some that had these issues, the inside of the injector rails were plugging up with a fine red silty rust type of sediment..
He replaced all the injectors and the fuel rail and the problem vanished,he cut the old fuel rail open and found it was mostly clogged with the red silt...so fine it could pass thru a fuel filter..but it appeared to be coming from the fuel rail itself corroding..eventually it would probably develop pinholes and leak..his looked like new externally however..

I suppose that stuff could clog up any fuel system eventually..

I've heard that all the LS truck motors are constantly filling their fuel rails with silt unless you use perfect gas. I've taken the rails off both of my motors, removed the injectors and found nothing at all in the fuel rails except gas. Neither is low mileage. We need Paul Harvey to tell us "the rest of the story".

I only found it on the front 4 cylinders. Back ones had a couple specks on them but not like the front. If it came from the fuel supply why was it around the edges like that? Shouldn't it have been in the cylinder?

I suspect the fuel was at fault,we had some issues with fuel quality several years ago here...diesels also were affected the same way..
The dealer rep did say it was not "exclusive" to New England though, complaints had been noted nationwide ..

Who knows why the deposits accumulate the way they did--could be a hundred reasons or theories...I have no clue!..

Ok. Wasn't sure if it might point to another issue! Seems that's all I run into with this build.
