Definitely would go over truck from top to bottom now that you found that.
May as well replace the sender the last one I did on my 2002 came with a retrofit harness to wire in for that issueI recently sold the '14 Silverado I bought two years ago and found this to replace it. It's a 2001 Chevy Silverado ccsb with the duramax and 5 speed Allison transmission, close to fully loaded for the day. I'll tell you what, I could get used to how the diesel pulls! Accelerating is much more fun than any gas pickup I've owned! Anyways, it's got 260k miles and seems to be all original, no smoke, ever. Cold start, fires right up, no smoke. Punch it off the line, no smoke. That said, I'm not sure if it's been tuned or not, as it has an egt and boost gauge on the A-pillar, but no programmer of any kind that I can see.
First item of business: tires and fluids/filters. Then fix the fuel gauge, as it sits on E and won't move from there.

Oh, you mean bitch mittens....I've already decided I need to keep a glove in the fuel door so I can keep the nasty on the pump handle off my hands.

Hopefully that Tcase leak isn't the drum wearing through the case. They tend to do that too bad you're so far I have a 263 Tcase sitting after scrapping that 01 2500 as well as both axlesStarted tearing into the truck to see what needs to be done to it. Annoyingly, the abs and brake lights came on in the dash while I was maneuvering it in the driveway, don't know what that's about, and I don't have a scanner so I'll take it to my mechanic after I get it back on it's wheels. Speaking of which, the truck was shaking going down the road because of a bulge on one of the rear tires, and annoyingly, it's the one with the best tread I was going to use as a spare. Except that would be a bad idea because it's 6 years old...
I'm not sure a ball joint is supposed to move a quarter inch when unloaded? Correct me if I'm wrong but it's getting 4 of them just for peace of mind. Bearings seem good, brake pads have plenty of life, the rest of the brake lines look good. It does need new hoses for the steering and brake booster, eventually. The oil leak looks like the oil filter adapter is leaking, as is the front output on the transfer case.
Funny thing, when I was checking the air filter, (it's getting a K&N filter soon) I noticed the previous owner drilled a bunch of "speed holes" in the intake box. So uh, I guess it'll get an aftermarket intake next summer...
Get all that done and change/flush all the fluids and it should be good to run for a while. Not bad for a truck that I paid half of what others in the age/miles/condition range are going for. Little bit of TLC and I think it'll be a good ride.

They make a pump rub repair kit for that sucker. I’d look into it.Hopefully that Tcase leak isn't the drum wearing through the case. They tend to do that too bad you're so far I have a 263 Tcase sitting after scrapping that 01 2500 as well as both axles

I’ll caution you on a K&N, I had one and sucked the filter out of it over time. I only run the stock stuff.
I wouldn’t be worried about the stock Swiss cheese mod providing it’s got an OEM filter.
Yep. Stock box, stock filter.I was going to use a replacement filter in the stock box, is that what you guys are talking about?
