noJeeps 2001 duramax Frank - new headlights

I'm no oil expert, but I was under the impression that "Diesel specific" oils were mostly (all?) about soot control. If I'm not wrong, then not sure anything described here would be addressed by using diesel specific. FWIW, I've use Rotella 15/40 Diesel formula since new.
Soot control is the most important part, the other is the extra additives for lubrication.
Used to be more zinc, but now I think they use boron.
It also dosen't break down as fast as the regular oil under heavy use.

Well, Frank is out of commission again

After I replaced the idler arm, pitman arm and all the power steering hoses, the brake booster decided to take a crap, as in the seals are puking fluid to tune of half a pint a day.

At least it waited until I got home from a 2 week trip to my parents in Montana. Ran great the whole time and got great economy, 20.9 mpg on the way home.

I pulled off all the badges and trim yesterday, and today I got most of the way through getting the tape residue off the body. Found one area of concern, underneath the fuel filler, but I think it's still salvageable. I like the cleaner appearance :pimp:

I got a '14+ tailgate badge to put on my tailgate, but I may not...

The chrome on the grille crossbar is peeling, so I want to vinyl wrap it white and also wrap the front bowtie, either white or gold. If I go gold, I'll put the rear tie on, if I go white, I'll leave the rear off. What do you guys think?

Also also, I want to relocate the Duramax badge to either the fender or the hood, much like the new trucks have them. Which do you guys think looks better?

I put some Amsoil oil conditioner stuff in and both consumption and the smoke have died down. It's not gone, but is almost not there anymore. I think actual diesel oil will fix it. Hopefully.
