Norcal_Chris 95 Jeep build (Snowball) TH350 gurus

Took it for its first wheelin trip today.

It suprised me how well it did for being open diffs. You have to pick your lines carefully and the low low sure helped in keeping things controlled. i was able to make it places i was unsure it would go. Overall an awesome trip and im looking forward to doing a few tweaks and making it even more capable.

Oh mike was able to "drive" it when i got out of the truck while it was moving. It scooted right up the hill with mike turning the wheel.

Hes got all the pics

Tell em about yer air-time, Chris.....
Tell 'em...

I got a TON of pics of this BEAST, in action! :eek1:

It does crap, w/ two open diff's, that I never thought possible... :thumb:
That low-low..... Holy Jeebus.

Pics uploading currently.

It jumps/lands pretty good, too... :haha:

I didn't get a shot of the first door removal,
But, it's sparked a new tradition... :D

What the YJ lacks in flex, it more than makes up for in maneuverability.

If only I had thursdays off...
Seems the jeep did good for its first time!
So what are some of these "tweaks" you got planned or will we have to wait in suspense???

Well it needs to be locked... bad.

I am still undecided if the front axle is staying. The rear has to go. So i may be picking up a aussie locker for the front, or grabbing an 8.8. i still need to do more research. I am also going to move my mounts around a little. with the front springs full compression the shackle had tons of forward movement. so i will be seeing about moving it back a touch, same with rear.

I have an Aussie in my front 30 and after having broken a steering u-joint coming down Black Bear in Telluride, I decided that I'd really prefer to have a selectable locker in the front so that it can be unlocked when you are steering at full lock and putting those steering joints under a lot of stress. When I finally get around to putting my Wag front end in, I think I will actually leave it open and just lock the 8.8 out back. Still not sure though. Maybe selectable both front and back.

So no Tons and 42s then :haha:
I seen a guy on pirate that had an aussie for sale. It was in a sas'd s10. Dont remember the price. I think his name was uscgmikemike or something along that.

Oh so i have to know....does it have a cb??? :haha:

Hrm that is something to think about too...

But a selectable is like 700 bucks ouch. I guess i should get cracking on the 8.8 and lock that instead. but that is 2 steps away

Yea.... I'm running my fat a$$ up the hill, and I hear police sirens!!!

Jerk.... :haha:
-----------------------------------------------------------------

If you thought a Blazer needed everything, you're in for a whole lot more in a YJ :deal:
He knows what it needs.....

It just needs mods for how Chris wheels.
We're cheap a$$e$, anyways... :haha:

That looks like a fun place to play around. I think that thing would be a lot of fun with a rear locker.
