I agree here also on the t-case and 700. I wheel pretty hard on my setup, and have yet to have any issues. My 700 is going on 4-5 years old on a rebuild and is still kicking arse!
 
Trying to figure out what to do about seats in this thing because the factory seats suck. I was looking at 99' and up seats but they dont tilt so getting into the back during hunting season could suck

Sub'd for a local K5.

I have no problems with my built 700r4. My rig does see sudo-daily street use so I like the 700r4 and when I get out to wheel, Im not that nice to it and its held up so far. I found an old guy while I was in NC (30 years experience), told him my intent for use and he hooked up my tranny.

I have '04 Silverado seats....love 'em! One of the best upgrades I did.

how hard is it for passengers to get in the back? ive found a set of 2005 GTO seats for pretty cheap locally I might try to make them work but unsure if I want car seats in this thing.

Flip back rest forward, slide seat as far forward as possible and its comparable to stock seats. Adults havent had any issue, kids definitely dont have an issue, but I guess its relative.

I usually dont have passengers in the back. Back seat is out most of the time since I use it as a truck most of the time when not wheeling. Only person I usually have in the back is my 16 y/o kid if the Mrs. is with us...but Mrs. is 5'2", she's not a fan of climbing in and out of my rig too often....lol. For me, its worth the extra comfort. If your putting a car seat in the back, I would imagine its not going to be easy whether stock seats or aftermarket.

There are a couple folks on here that have made brackets so their seats hinge at the front and flip all the into the dash which is a good idea. I believe MrK5 did it on his old K5 before he switched to a crew cab.

Awesome thanks for the info, gonna start looking for the seats right now. I'm keeping my back seat for when I take this to my duck lease. Tired of driving my nice diesel down those MS delta roads and tearing it up slowly.


Now my main focus is getting the Crossover steering ordered, ORD FUSH kit with shackle and getting my 37's. Budget is slowly getting shot to hell lol
 
Thanks to Heavyleft this will now be getting a budget hydro assist set up while i'm redoing all the steering.

little update

- ORD front shackles and FUSH kit
- 2wd steering box
- new taillights
- 37in BFG crawlers (non sticky)
- hydro assist ram and fittings
- hydro lines
- New indicator lever on column

- PS cooler for when I go hydro
- DIY bedliner kit
- LED rock lights/interior lights

Parts I need to order for this round to get it fully streetable
- Crossover steering kit
- newer seats (already found some 2003 silverado buckets in TN)
- 17x9 wheels
- diy4x ram mount
- Sell the current 35's
- shorty headers

1.5 with 8in stroke. I'm really doing this because i've had full hydro on every offroad rig that i've owned over the years and switching to regular steering would suck plus it's under $250 in parts is a no brainer.

drilled and tapped (1/4") the top plate on the Saginaw gear box for the other port.

I pulled a high flow valve from a hydro boost steering pump for the slight larger diameter valve.* But the West Texas Offroad modification should do the same thing.

My friends put a 8.1/4l80e into a 1972 4wd K20, it's such a sleeper its ridiculous. They left the body all original and rough looking but the rest is all brand new and powdercoated. It will flat out move with that mild cammed 8.1 in it
 
Well I ended up not getting those 37in Crawlers :doah::doah: So in the market for different tires. Kindof want some 38.5 TSL/SX but they kindof suck on the street. Might get TSL radials,SSR's, or MTR's
