Not so budget anymore 454 build

I'm not sure of that yet

My dad has the same brackets on his truck so I've been using that as a guide

I'll see what he is running

I tried a 6PK1345 and it works well. Could stand to be a tad shorter, but there's still room for tightening later on.

looks good..can't wait to hear it run. i used to paint all my engine rebuilds black, but its hard to spot leaks on black paint, so now they get body color if its light colored vehicle. if the body is a dark color i paint the longblock chevy orange..its alot easier to spot gas/oil/water leaks that way

I actually painted it black so I didn't have to worry about it getting dirty

Leaks shouldn't be too bad to spot though, I'm always under my truck for one reason or another

Looks pretty cool though. I like the painted intake and the stock orange covers.

I kind of do too but I am still gonna paint them black

i dont buy the whole "it's harder to spot leaks" bs..... it just sounds like something good to say imo... not very difficult to figure out an oil leak, no matter what the color.. if you can't, better hang up your wrenches...

i've done quite a few black motors, sometimes it's the best route... visually and maintenance/cleaning-wise.. heck, 95% of the marine motors i work on are black...

All sealed up, Just need to paint the valve covers and fasten those

I just sat the carb on, its a 870 street avenger

2nd pic is going from the intake the heads, a pretty sharp turn, plenty of grooves though :D

This thing should look like a mercruiser after I paint the valve covers :D

I should have painted mine mud brown

I considered leaving mine mismatched, one head blue, one head cast, black block orange valve covers :haha:
