it slides in and out, when you pull it out look at seals now would be the time to replace them
Ok thanks, I'll try that. It's been completely professionally rebuilt, so I'm sure seals are new.its the round thine the splines go to on both the output/input between the two
Yeah I just coated it with grease so it wouldn't rust. I'll clean it up before I try it again. Looks like I'm back to pulling the tranny.why is there grease on the bearing in the adaptor ? this faces the tranny fluid side . not good to mix them in auto .
and that's a early 205 adaptor with the support bearing on the coupler. it wont just slide out with out removing the bearing with it or removing the adaptor from the t-case then sliding the sleeve out the t-case end . as the sleeve is stepped for the bearing to seat on it.

Ok, thanks. I have some extras from the steering box, so I'll put those on there.All 4 should be long with those spacers. The spacers go on top of the frame.
