NV4500 5 speed?

Roger that breaker breaker one niner.


I'ma looking for a cheap effective fix, to hold until I can get the 5600 in working order.


Might get Evolution to machine me up a slim jam nut for it like the ones on their 1 1/4" hiems. They lock HARD.....and red locktite of course.

How bad is the fretting on the mainshaft?

Yeah, but he's got an NV5600 he can swap in place of the 4500. Six speeds are SO MUCH more user friendly.

I suppose, aside form the fact its like 3x larger then the 4500, heavier too. What about an input? (or is this going behind a Cummins, im sort of lost on this post)

Trusty, I haven't had the cover off yet.......Peirs Deisel in the lower mainland has an updated nut for $32 I just learned. I'll get that and make a jamnut for it too.


.......and yes mines behind a bombed '98.5 Cummins in a Dodge. A NV5600 is a bolt in swap for me as my crossmember it already built to hold it, and with a twin disk clutch from South Bend it'll hold anything I can throw at it............
