NV4500 Swap

If you can't get it in the last 1/8" by wiggling and pressing it in, sounds like something is binding. You can try moving the clutch lever a bit to see if that frees anything up.

If it is bound up, tightening the bolts may snap the ears off the bellhousing.

Got it. It had very little resistance.

Now, do I use gasket maker on the transmission adapter to tcase joint?

install transmission 4 or 5 times before we decided to cut the main shaft. we thought clutch wouldn,t disengage(pressure plat problem). the second last time we had clutch fork out ,and only clutch disc on main shaft. we could see clutch wasn,t binding, throught clutch fork hole. and still we couldn,t turn transmission free. thats when we phone advance adapters ,and the counter guy said on some occasions it happens. and like most guys we read threw instructions rather quickly. it was there in black and white where we should take measurements :dunno:. does clutch release ok!

Made some more progress! I think she looks good with 2 sticks.

Not sure if I will attempt to rebuild the cv joint or pay someone.

Awesome! What transmission cross-member are you using? And where does it sit, relative to its original location along the frame?

I used the stock cross member in the stock location. It went in with a little tweaking. The cross member was already twisted up when I pulled the th400 (bent the frame a little bit too on the bottom lip where the cross member bolts on.

On my NV4500 swap, I had the flat style cross member. It still bolted in the stock location but I had to use a 2"-3" spacer to get it to bolt up to the transmission.

Excellent. I was hoping it would be something easy like that. :)

Need some steering column wiring help. Have a few loose ends.

I believe this is for cruise control, which I no longer have. Can anyone confirm? Also there is a vacuum hose which I also believe is cruise control?

Then I have this:

I am pretty sure this goes to it. It does not go on easy and I didn't want to break stuff. It has a little keyway that looks perfect for the male end. But it looks like it is for 4 spades not 2??? Help! :dunno:

All I can help with is the switch on top if the column is for the neutral safety switch and reverse lights.

You sure that's assembled right? I had the exact same parts on mine, behind a 6.2 and never had an issue there. Of course it's been long enough I don't remember how it all went...

Good news is my wife is right, I am a dumb ass. Had it upside down (and I was missing a spacer on the slave bracket).
