OD auto (700) and transfer case questions

most people use 4l80 because there was only 1 version made and it was 4l80-e . saves time like all other short terms you guys use that i havent gotten all of yet.

Ah I get it. I was thinking that w/o e meant non electronic :haha: my bad. So is it the same way with the 4l60e?

e=mc2:D :p: :haha: :rotfl: :pimp:

sorry yes e= electric.:D :grin:

do you have tbi? if so the stand alone kits are cheep for them www.howell-efi.com has them . 450 for harness you use your tbi stuff , may need computer tho ask them. nice kit thay sent me, great quality....

No I am planning on using a carbed engine. I preffer carbs and non electic stuff :grin: Now could you explain the 4l60 to me? Is that the same as the 4l80? meaning that there is only one type and that is electric?

the 4l60 is the same thing as a 700-r4 in 93 they changed to the 4l60-E. The 4l80-e was never made in a non electronic version. But i think there is a full manual valve body that will fit the 4l80-e but then you alwasys have to do all your own shifting

cool now all that tranny stuff makes sense. :waytogo: thanks. Now I need to figure out the transfer case questions.

What is the difference between the np 208 and the 241?

Th400 + NP208

My 82 K20 has a TH400 with a NP208 T-case factory--maybe because its a diesel??..and the T-case has a 32 spline input,the same as a 4 speed..:crazy:

I think the military trucks run 400/208 a lot
