Where do you mount your off road lighting? On the hood was the only spot I could think of with the top off in the summer time. Any ideas? Post up some pics of your unique mounting positions.

I'll be mounting a set of KC Slimlites on the front frame horns under my bumper. I think it'll look pretty good on my K5...

Well I say get a kool bumper and mount the lights to that if not mabe cut out holes in you grill and install them as if they were highbeams but only use them for offroad use

Yeah, I had thought about Hartley truck's grill replacement. But part of me likes them on the hood because they are usefull for uhhh... hunting. I wish I had a roll cage to mount them on. I wonder if the brush guard on the front would be in the way of the lights if they were in the grill. I've seen someone's lights that were mounted on what looked like the side of the windshield with some kind of bracket. That I think would really work for me but I need a picture of one to make one.

I made a quick detatch bracket that bolts to my bumper using captive nuts.

Errr....no! I made an alloy bracket and used 4 x 12mm Wurth compression nuts in the bumper. All home made. The lights are Warn 6" units. I made a weather pack connector for the electics.

I'll go out and snap one tommorrow. I can't believe I don't have any straight on pics of my truck out of all of the ones my wife and I have taken. I tell you what though, that photo shop thing is neat. Wish I knew how to do it. I don't like computers, if it wasn't for CK5 or other neat websites

I made a custom grill out of expanded steel, and mounted my Hella 500s behind the expanded steel...helps protect them from rocks, branchs, and theives too! just a thought...and only cost me about 25.00 to build the grill and the light mounts too! (I used 4" shelf brackets for the lights)

made a bumper, mounted lights behind the 'stinger' so the never get hit. pic is of my old suburban getting rid of the bumber too.
IF you want unique get some flat stock steel 1/8th or 3/16th cold rolled ( it is a little harder) and make a brackit that will bolt in to the top fender wher it bolts in between the hood and cowl.
bend it up so the brackit will stick out there then bend it level anf mount the light on it. Wireing can go right throught the same gap. That way you can just reach out and move it for hunting, or to twist it ahead to see around the turn when off roading at night.

3 lights per side 5 bulbs, plus the yellow and clear spots
14 bulbs total, about 1130 watts enuff to kick the truck in the balls idleing if you turn them all on at once.

hey man, if I come by sometime, will you show me how you did that?? It confused the hell out of me before, but it quickly grew on me.
Ally angle and plates welded up and drilled for 12mm bolts, counterbored to recess the heads. This was all I could take before the camera battery died!
