No it is up high. But it is not a rod or piston Wade and I were thinking lifter.
I wonder, was this a EFI engine to begin with ? fuel pump rod ????
It is almost every other rotation, and it stopped for a revolution twice when we were running it.

noises are 1/2 engine speed , or full engine speed... 1/2 is top end stuff.. lifter, valve, etc...
perplexing is that it stopped making it then started again.
It is really loud also. Louder then a rocker arm.
No misses in the engine either runs fine, except the noise.

Did either of you drive it around? Lawrence was reporting loss of power when he limped it home for the last time. Curious to see if that corresponded to the intermittent noise.
Wade pulled it off the trailer. Seemed to run alright.

I guess we're all curious to the cause of the noise....I hope Russell keeps the present engine at least to get a little deposit $$$ back for his efforts and parts.
Made it to Evansville Wy at 10 pm. No truck parking available at the truck stops. So I am in a dive motel 6 for the night. That was a long day. Started at 7:15 am.
